This is a transparent tiny house in Waipara, South Island, New Zealand. It’s a vacation tiny home nestled over Waipara Valley. The most amazing part? The tiny house has transparent glass ceilings, walls, and floors so you can take in the incredible views at any moment of the day.
Inside, you’ve got a king-size bed, a dining area, and bathroom. Outdoor amenities include a barbecue grill, outdoor seats, and a deck. What do you think of the transparent walls, ceilings, and floors? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that done before in a tiny home to this extent.

If you wanted to live in this full time, it would probably be challenging because there may not be enough storage and there’s not really much of a kitchen. Although, you could have these amenities by using a separate structure and combine them using a deck. That would be pretty cool, wouldn’t it?
This unit is a vacation rental, so if you’re ever up for a trip to Waipara, South Island, New Zealand, maybe you can consider booking your stay here? Although it does not come at a very affordable price: $445.59 per night (subject to change, of course).

This house is my idea of pure bliss ,, location being all of course ,, love it
This is pretty. I have a few habits. Looks like no neighbors. Which would be good. 🙂 I will leave at this. Really unique.
Interesting to be sure, but does beg the question of why? To each his own. Might work well on the South Island of NZ, but in warmer climes like here in Florida, would think it would be a bit challenging to keep/stay cool.
It would be damned cold in winter time to be sure. Snow is NOT an uncommon feature there in winter. Come to that not even uncommon in autumn either. And to be sure, you’d give the local wildlife a fright if you’re in only your birthday suit.
While I original wanted a year round tiny house, health problem make it foolish to be stuck in one during winter in Northern Ontario. So now I am designing a tiny retreat for late spring to early fall only.
Because of this I have decided to have an all glass front, and am considering a lot of glass on the side walls.
Some people do not plan to winterize their location. As for summer, I am hoping to use solar energy to cool the place.
Interesting concept but as the old saying goes: People in glass houses… have a hard time keeping their house cool in summer and warm in winter lol!
Eric, you are so right! The local critters are already none to pleased with seeing me. Catching a glimpse of me in my b-day suit is likely to give them cause to seek asylum at the local pet rescue center.😉
I see no reason to make a bathroom with glass walls
