Benefit #1: More Money In Your Pocket Every Month Because Your Housing Costs Are Much Less

With more money in your pocket, you can use it for whatever you want! You can help out family, put your kids through school, live in a more desirable location, invest for the future, go on adventures, travel, start a new hobby, or whatever else you can think of.

What would you do with your money if your living expenses were lower?

Benefit #2: More Free Time Because You Don’t Have As Much House to Maintain (Inside and Outside)

With a large house comes lots of maintenance. You’ve got to take care of your inside space and many times your outside space too. You have to make sure your roof is maintained, your paint, your lawn, and everything else that goes into a home. If you move into a tiny house, you’ll have much less of this to do, giving you lots of free time.

If you move into an apartment, you’ll have even less to worry about because you wouldn’t be responsible for any outside maintenance! You just have to worry about the interior of your space which is pretty nice.

With more free time, what would you do with it? Would you go on more walks? Think about it, you could spend more time traveling, enjoy quality time with your family, you could start a new hobby, learn something new, master a skill, learn a new language, spend more time in nature, and who knows what else, right?

So what would you do with more free time? What sort of home do you think you’d prefer, a tiny house on wheels, on a foundation, or an apartment or condo where you wouldn’t have to worry about any exterior maintenance?

Benefit #3: Less Time Cleaning Your House Every Day

Wouldn’t it be nice getting to clean less inside and outside of your house? Imagine being able to clean up your entire home in half the time or possibly even less! That’s one of the greatest benefits of living in a smaller space.

You won’t have to sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and wipe things down nearly as much as in the average size home because you’ll have less of everything. Fewer floors, counters, and stuff, right?

Benefit #4: Less Stuff to Own Because You Just Don’t Have Space For It

Owning fewer things has its benefits too because you’ll spend less money buying items that you probably don’t even need. This ends up wasting your time, it can distract you, and it is a wasteful use of your money.

When you have less space, you become more mindful of what you allow into your home. This turns you into a better decision maker and the habit can trickle into other areas of your life too!

Benefit #5: You’ll Spend More Time Outside of Your House Participating in Life

When you have more money in your pocket and more time it means you have more freedom and choices to do more of what you want, right?

So if you work towards simplifying your life, getting rid of stuff that’s bogging you down, and eventually maybe downsizing into a smaller and more efficient space that matches your needs it can truly mean more freedom and happiness!

Then you can start applying the same principles to the rest of your life. To your work, your relationships, your activities, and beyond. So do something today to make your life simpler. It’s as easy as getting rid of a little bit of junk, even if it’s just one thing. Start with something easy and doable. And little by little, day by day, you’ll be getting closer and closer.

Definitely agree with the statement that bigger homes require more maintenance. I’m so ready to get rid of my ball and chain.
