The TRIVIA is a concept vehicle created at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana in Brazil.

It’s an electric tricycle that can protect you from excessive wind, rain and extreme temperatures.

It’s slightly larger than most motorcycles and has just enough room one person.

It’s designers include Felipe Degasperi Aranega, Sergio Tadeu Almeida Curitiba, and Felipe Andretta Costacurta.

The TRIVIA is an Electric Tricycle Concept Vehicle

Although it has an electric engine it’s designed to have pedals to increase fuel efficiency and get exercise.

It uses gears similar to that of a bicycle. The design also includes air conditioning and a luggage rack. In 2009, it earned the iF concept award.

If you like this little electric scooter-car, watch the video clip to see exactly how it works:

I like ideas for smarter vehicles and commuting because it’s something that’s going to continue to evolve.

I also like how this concept vehicle promotes a lifestyle that encourages people to stay healthy and active.

Unfortunately this would dangerous on most public roads, but in areas where bicycles and scooters are common, the TRIVIA concept vehicle can work.

What are your ideas for how we can commute more efficiently? Would you even consider this or would you simply go car-free?

    Dear Sirs:
I am interested in the Trivia. Is it legal in the USA. What kind of speeds does it get to. How much does it cost and how can I get one?

Seeing the variations in ‘enclosed bicycle’ vehicles is good. This particular Trivia model does Not have a video to show How It Works. Instead it shows the interior and outside views not the mechanics. Any enclosed bicycle is better to ride in inclement weather compared to my riding with an umbrella trying to see and navigate as I did during school days. These vehicles would be much easier to use and park for campus and reduce the impact on the environment. Now if I can find a model with slightly more cargo space for my groceries…

Mind that this was over 12 years ago… Technology and products have moved on since then. Just look up electric tricycles for some of the products available now. There’s also some 4 wheel versions and are a subset of the electric vehicle market…
