Hi Alex (and Tiny House Newsletter readers), I wanted to share our tiny home pics with you.
Although we really love our tiny home, it isn’t in the ideal location for our little family.
So this tiny home is for sale, the details are at the bottom.
My husband Brian built this with the help of our good friend Gabe.

We bought the windows, cabinets and sink used online, they were pretty cheap. The total cost of the all the materials involved including the solar equipment is about $12,000. It all started when we used to live in a regular 1200 sq ft home and got tired of the finical burden of a mortgage that never seemed to get smaller.
It was an older home but we bought when the market was high, our payment was $1200 per month. We refinanced twice which barely lowered our payment and all of the money went to fees and interest so 4 years later our balance was the same as when we first bought it.
So we ended up getting some land out in a more rural area with plans to eventually build on it. We first put a cargo container on it to store all of our stuff from our larger home. We picked one with doors and a window thinking that we would later on turn it into an office or living space.
Before we were able to move into our tiny home we rented a cute little cottage on an acre with the option to buy but we didn’t want to get back into the mortgage scene. Our land was already paid for so we decided to cash in our 401k’s and use our tax return to build our tiny home on our own land so we could live mortgage free.
We lived here with our two young boys for about 13 months. This location is absolutely stunning and I enjoyed it very much.
However, we have been living in the desert for a very long time, about 8 years and we are ready for a change of scenery.
So, we are planning to sell our tiny home and start over in Oregon. We are currently looking for an ideal piece of land and we’ll get started with a tiny home asap.
Our end goal is to live in a community with some friends and family and share the land and gardening. Our desert location was just too much work to get the gardening going.
We are health nuts and eat a lot of organic produce, which is expensive. Our dream is to grow as much of our own food as possible so that we hardly ever need to visit a grocery store.
We also have a dream of starting a retreat/healing center so we would like to build many tiny homes for people to to stay in while they are enjoying a retreat at our place.
