Price is right. Should be snapped up right away by all the people who complain that prices are too high…

I may know someone interested in your beautiful tiny home. In the description it says, “…selling (or willing to trade!)” What are you looking to trade?

    Thanks!

Ya see that folks….! Take a good look at this fine home, and than take a look at the honest price that it is being sold for….

Hey Zac, it might actually be listed at a low price because the owner wants to quit it quick. Maybe they have the cash to build most of the new home and only need $x to pay the new one off.

And also, note his comment? “Tiny Sanctuary is for sale for $17,900… The price has been reduced because we are not including the solar panel system, we will let the new owner decide what their needs are when it comes to off grid power.”

So that is part of the answer. And prices will vary in different parts of the country due to overheads. Think California v Ohio (or any other cheaper part of the country).

Listen I am far from Micky The Boob….! You can buy and install your self today, a combination on/off grid solar system from Northern tool’s today for less then $2,000.00 which will more than adequately power your home and still maybe able to put power back on the grid, should you be so inclined to do so… So I hardly think that is really and differential on this price, or if it is it would better to be left to it’s new owner to be installed as it would be much cheaper than what most of these companies are offering at any cost… People do not realize and need to be better educated in some cases as to what it is they are actually buying and what it is that the builder is exactly building for them as a lot of unscrupulous characters are out there in this world and pray upon unknowing house buyers with highly over inflated costs which the buyer has no knowledge of, or about…! It is this that I try to instill in the minds of these my fellow readers whom defend these very same unscrupulous builders thinking they are being so charitable to them the builder who is looking to deceive those very same buyers and readers alike… Don’t be so quick to defend them as you may not realize just how much they are withholding information from you or playing the role of the good nature builder only trying to help you, because they are out to help them selves first and that is business as usual for them…! And let me be clear I am not by any means saying that this builder is of whom I speak, so lets get that right out of the way…! Just saying Buyer Beware….!

          December 7, 2016, 8:45 am

Always good to beware! This builder, though, built the house for himself, and is selling it to go smaller so I don’t think he’s out to get anyone (I hope!)

My tiny house for sale and my solar decision …
Well, I had eight 100 watt, 12 volt solar panels… I held onto my 2000 watt “pure sine wave” 4000 peak inverter… had not bought my 60 amp charge controller at that point… The expensive part was that I was gonna buy one lithium 12 volt 200 amp hour battery and expand later, and when you research that particular battery you see that its capable of 100% full discharge per cycle and over 5000 cycles… That’s where the money really was, the stinking battery, and why I hadn’t purchased it but was close when I first listed the house for sale…
1.I liked the idea of one battery
          2.no maintenance
          3.no charge or discharge issues
          4.works well in cold temps
5.no concern of multiple batteries in series or parallel being only as strong as the weakest battery in the chain
6.less weight inside trailer where battery is safe out of the elements and warm and not giving off gasses as it charges… I had the money at the time and I was gonna go for it but when it came to resale people wanted a tiny old school system from harbor freight tools that would cost 1000 or a little more when all was said and done… I owned a system like that, it was iffy at best, kinda like a crappy solar pathway light that is barely doing the job… I swore the next would be like the new Tesla Power Wall units or something similar… There’s the short explanation of the cost of the solar sytem that never got installed… LOL !
In the end there are dozens or maybe hundreds of possible power source configurations and you must choose based on price, power production, you own power needs, your willingness to stay up on maintenance of your system, weight and portability… Quite honestly I have reaching the point where I want 100% off the grid power that will power anything ! well atleast that’s the goal… I have lived with zero bills for 2 years and this tiny house has paid for itself… time for the next one…

Good deal! My recommendation to anyone buying, would be to get an ENVI electric wall mounted heater. I have used one in my tiny house for 7 years and they are smashing! Even on a single 110 circuit, I never had a problem with the heater drawing too much electricity – even in below freezing weather. Of course, who doesn’t like the flame of a wood stove or propane fire, but the ENVI comes in under $150 and needs no special arrangements. I know I sound like a commercial, but it’s a terrific product!

I f you note what I had said, I was not saying that this builder was, nor was I referring directly to this house… But as in general…! And my opinion as to the cost of the solar power, and it’s displacement within the cost of this house….!!! Again you are defending and not reading and comprehending… You are being to quick to want to judge me…! Judge everything as a whole before you make your convictions….!

Cute home; adorable place where it sits!
Question: why you want to go smaller, just curious,
And how much are we talking about, for the battery? And thanks for the honest info….:)

    • Scotty
      December 7, 2016, 6:49 pm

Susanne, the batteries are astronomically priced, but if they offer what I’m looking for it’s so close to being worth it… One of the batteries I’ve been looking at is $2,400… search “nexgen battery” to get an idea of options… I’ve been in my tiny house for a couple years and I know now for a fact that I can go smaller and be even more comfortable and cozy than I already am…

Scotty, I’m so glad you have posted and hope you come back to read this post. I’ve adored tiny houses since before there was such a name given to a movement. Of all the houses I’ve seen over the years, yours is the most practical and reasonably priced of any I’ve seen. If we weren’t on opposite coasts, I would be insisting that my husband and I purchase your house. Great job! Best wishes with this house and the future build.

I have been living in my hand built 22′ tiny house on wheels for 6 yrs. Im about to start a 16′ tiny house because I just don’t need all the room. Its took a while but ya just get used to needing less and less. And I too figured out how to make smaller more cozy and comfy. Great job on your house!!

        • February 17, 2017, 2:21 am

Yes Joni, exactly !!! I have found after a few years that I could do 12 feet, or maybe a 10 foot trailer next… It’s funny how I can still find wasted space in such a small space… I have a few doodles for the next one but no immediate plans, but one thing is for sure, it will be smaller… I am looking into alternative materials that will be lighter so I can still make it look like my last house but a 1/3 of the weight, then I can tow it with fewer concerns of a giant tow vehicle…

  • Scotty
    December 12, 2016, 12:19 pm

I think it is sold as of 12/10/16… received downpayment, awaiting full payment and tow away 12/17/16… We’ll see…
