This is an off-grid tiny library cabin in the Georgia forest!

Hello.  we built this on a permaculture farm this last winter. An off grid library/ lounge in the middle of the Georgia woods. The project was completed in 2 weeks and cost about $2000. It is primarily made from recycled materiel. The major expenses were the wood stove and pipe, foundation and tin roofing.

Enjoy!

That is fabulous and I am impressed with the low price and rapid build. If it was my husband he would still be working on it a year later 🙂 !

An awesome idea! I’m working with college students on a tiny house senior research project and want to build something next fall semester with them. This would make perfect sense on our college property as a place to go and read and get away. Thanks for the idea.

I can not fathom stumbling upon anything more perfect than a cabin filled with books with a wood stove and a comfy place to sit!

Well this is a first for me, add a very interesting Tiny House that is with out a doubt pretty cool…! I am a book collector, and have a pretty extensive collection of books, and it is of great interest to me to see how other collectors keep books in their library that is not purposefully built to house books.. Out of all the things I would bring with me after down sizing would be my books, and not very much more.. I do have another hobby in which I indulge my self with but I know I’m going to have to find another way to store as they barely fit in this park model house in which I live now….! Oh my other hobby is flying R/C Sailplanes which are light in weight, but quit bulky in size…!

And already it is full up to pussies bow. Didnt they know books mulitply to take up the shape of their container very very quickly.

Guess they havent filled the floor space up yet though.

I am going to have to have a 2nd space just for my ‘textile collection’ (aka quilt fabric).

Lovely, warm, fun and functional. I’m envious. It ”s a great idea for the community.
Is it possible to get the library dimensions? Proportionately, it looks like a cabin I’m planning, but knowing the measurements and roof slope will help me pin down what I want. Thanks again for the share!
