Tiny House on Wheels with Lots of Storage

This post contains affiliate links.

This is Robert & Samantha’s tiny house on wheels with lots of storage!

In fact, it probably has more storage than I’ve seen in any other tiny home on wheels.

What do you think about their solution for storing all of their outdoor gear? Pretty smart, isn’t it?

Please enjoy, learn more about it, and re-share it below. Thank you!

I really like the design of your home, especially the mini galley kitchen. It looks like it tows like a dream. Thank you for all those photos, they were fantastic. You are of the few who can say I’ve seen the Earth in ways most will only dream about. Thanks for your posting, most enjoyable one ever.

I thought about shed-type storage. Then I stopped. Thinking. About an integrated shed. I’m glad Robert and Samantha didn’t. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and…awesome video. Not at all what I expected, but awesome none the less. Pure joy. Translated the excitement very well. And at the end of the day, contentment.

And yet another loft bed, with yet another set of stairs/steps with no handrail. I’m so tired of lack of handrails. And I’ve been sick of lofts since I’ve been a kid, and I’m sure not going to change my mind now. If you’re going to have one hooked up to electric, then if it had a loft, I’d rig a small elevator. Just recalled, there are non-electric elevators too. Either way, I’d not be risking life and limb on steps with no handrail. With my knees anymore, I wouldn’t be using steps period.

And yet another moaner… about loft beds, about stairs, about no handrails, and on, and on, and on.

Fair dinkum, you aren’t everybody. What works for you probably won’t work for others. And vice versa. Accept it for what it is. One persons home which works for them. Take the good, file it, and if you ever go down this road then you can use the bits you like. Or not.

I’ve seen people hurt on regular steps that had handrails. So if they can get hurt on regular steps, which are not considered dangerous, narrow steps like these, that look like they would be slick if damp, and no handrail, almost guarantee someone getting hurt sooner or later. You’re welcome to risk that, but I didn’t get this old by taking risks – at least of my own accord.

Ohhh, come on now — really is that hard to build a handrail, why dismiss the whole build for lack of a handrail that you could so easily add yourself, I do not see why people need to comment over and over about no handrails. It is NOT a big deal, I mean really, get real now!!

Ohhh, come on now – read it again, I did not dismiss the whole build because of lack of a handrail. And, yes, a handrail IS a big deal, it should be able to hold a grown person’s full body weight+, just in case. I can’t guarantee adding one could do that, on someone else’s build.

Going DOWN steps from a sleeping loft is not just stepping down, as you would on a regular stairs. The sleeping lofts are not tall enough to stand up straight, so you would have go get on your hands and knees, and go down the steps backwards, to do it safely. Add waking up in the middle of night, two thirds asleep, and having go go down, and it just adds to the possibility of a fall. And if you make it down OK, then there’s still the trip back up, still sleepy. You can take those chances if you want, but I won’t. It’s a safety thing.

Of course, the owners of this home are snow boarders. Probably the idea of getting hurt going up the stairs isn’t too big of a deal to them.

Looks interesting, but impossible to tell. Miles and miles of fenceposts don’t tell me a thing about the house. I didn’t even see the outdoor storage. Did I miss something?

The video said a lot about the tow-ability of this build and showed it did not sway around on the road but was under control all the time — that is thanks to the roof pitch.

“Watch the police & the tax man miss me- I’m mobile” One can only hope eh. Great song choice for your vid. With the shed roof design, this one appears to be set up for traveling better than most. Loft cat looks happy:)

Robert & Samantha – congrats on your build & perseverance! I love it when a plan comes together. I can tell just by the way your fasteners are installed as if you chalk lined it (straight lines) that there was much attention to detail. I always wonder about the real quality of a build by some of these commercial outfits when the pattern of fasteners on the outside looks like it came from a sub machine gun 30′ away.

IMO, shed roof designs aren’t as aesthetically pleasing as a gable with dormers but I’ve always thought they were much more practical. I would have designed the roof peak a little farther forward so it aligns just ahead of the loft entry vertical plane. Then I would have given the roof less pitch as it heads towards the rear. This wouldn’t help much in the exterior looks department but would have allowed maximum room in the loft. It’s great they have designed in some storage to accommodate their active lifestyle.

Thanks for sharing your build with us. Having spent time drawing out various designs on paper, actually seeing the fruit of somebodies labor & creativity makes it easy for me to visualize my personal spin & wargame alternate ideas.

loft bedrooms are great for the agile. those who have sore knees or bad backs or dizziness can still enjoy a Tiny or Small house due to the many different designs available now. This house is well built and well designed. I really appreciate the diagram of the wall structure! Impressive.

As a kayaker and a future tiny home builder I have often tried to figure out where to put my kayak and gear. Now I know what to do with it and all my tools. Thank you 🙂
