Tiny House on Wheels with a Floating Office/Study Loft

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a tiny house on wheels with a floating loft desk!

It’s a unique design that you have probably never seen before. The tiny home features two lofts: one for sleeping and the other for use as a floating office/study.

The idea is definitely not practical for everyone, but I could see it being a hit with students and rock climbers alike. The home is built by Build Tiny in New Zealand. It’s called The Millennial and you can see more photos of it here. What do you think of this floating loft office concept? Is it something that you would consider doing for your tiny house on wheels?

Finally a decent use of a loft, at least 1 of them.
Lofts with beds are something everyone thinks is cool until they use them for a month.
You’d be far better off putting the bed below and like this office, dining, etc above that you don’t have to stumble down stairs, ladder half asleep to
pee in the middle of the night ..

I like it, even though I’m in my 60’s. My only concern is keeping extra pencils up there in case I drop one. Agree with Jerry, bedroom on 1st floor is way to go.

I’ve seen this once before, but this one is better done. Keep extra pencils etc in the drawers – one of the improvements over the one I saw before. For myself, I’d want the ability to move that chair along on little short wheels, likely on a track for safety. I think there are little tiny short platforms on wheel for moving heavy plants around. Or just screw the castors into the seat bottom. You would sure want to attach well for safety. But once done, all of that would give you easy movement along the wide desk. I can imagine a cartoon style fall otherwise. Likewise, I’d also want a railing to prevent me falling off the wide open side. But yes, so much better to have the office away from the living space and the bed near the bathroom. Win, win.

Desk area is a great start, very smart to have foot support and a real chair especially if it swivels? This got me thinking about a u-shaped desk and shelving or cupboards. Recessed pen pencil holders into desk top, could even recess file storage or put a roll out bins. Planning my tiny, this was inspiring.
