  This is great Alex. More exposure and ideas can only make things better for all concerned or interested in the lifestyle. Months ago I commented on a lifestyle where one requires an income but wanted to keep living small. Where my shack was keeping me busy, the gypsy in me kept bringing me back to the mobile side. And the fact there was no work for an old fart at home. Yes, you and a few always hear me spout off about being fixed to the ground and I still advocate those thoughts but to folliw the scenario I was going to develop my cube van. First I put out feelers for work in remote locations and the butterfly crap hit the air and work flooded in. Off I went in the truck and popup camper I was so proud of. NO, ended up in motels, still small living but not mine or home. No time to do the cube van I stumbled on a high camper van and life (ssummer in Canada) is great + employers like the idea they can call on dufis for a remote location and dufis is on his way. Anyway enough for now. Hi to Doc (laughing his head off at Ralphie in a cubicle) and of course the queen ow whit we all love and abmire. Just as a footnote, as I write this I am in the beginning of one hell of a storm. Big windows watching natural things happen while the music of rain, hard rain is pounding down andbi am in zen (whatever the hell zen is) and getting paid for it. OK, Enough from yapping Ralph. Love to catch the the show but unless it’s on the net I am buggered to see it. Still chasing ladies like an old dog chasing cars wondering what to do with it when I catch it. Met a few but they like me (of course they would beingbso damn refine and all) and just can’t embrace the lifestyle. I have told a couple I would buy a small trailer but no takers. By the way, anyone thinking of doing rhis should consider where I earn 25% of what I am used to its all spending money (figures are off the cuff but you get the drift. Gotta go, hail is hitting now. (thank god says he)

  Thank you so much for the heads up about Tiny House Nation! There is no way I would know about it otherwise because we don’t watch TV. I am sure that it will be on the internet somewhere and I will keep an eye out for it.

  I have been getting your newsletter for a while now and at first my extended family thought I had lost it with my obsession with everything tiny house. Now the whole family is into it and whoever happens to be in the house when I get the newsletter stops whatever they are doing and comes look at it with me.

  We are so inspired that we all decided to move to Colorado and build small and tiny houses!! Next month hubby and son-in-law will be going to look at large tracts of property where we all can live together. We have already picked out several properties that are 60 to 100 acres. Once we find the right property, we will all move en masse to the new location and build tiny and small houses to sell and to live in while raising livestock and planting gardens.

  Tiny House Talk has helped us with so many great ideas and will continue to be a source of inspiration, thanks Alex!

  Thanks Alex and to all of you who shared, I enjoyed reading this page before sleeping. I will now go dream of my Tiny House and smile as I wake up. At least that is my plan. We’ll see what God has in store. 🙂 God bless and Happy Trails!

  We live together and watch all your shows. You may say ‘well’. I’m 75 yrs. young and Sissy is 69. Our home is almost more than we can care for. We have thought about your little Doll houses as we call them, we could have 2 of them right together. If you ever come to Hamilton, Ohio look us up. We can promise you, you will laugh a lot when you meet us Miss Patty ( I’m the fat, funny one)

  The younger generation is just now finding out and grasping what the seniors (snow birds ) have known for over 3 decades. lol but instead of travel trailers and rv ‘s they are doing custom builds. Which i think is super…and about time.
  will be intrested to see in 10 years how well thes travel homes stand up.
  let me give ys all a little insite.
  1. traveling all around in one : Not all it is cracked up to be.
  a. unless you have friends or family, parking it over night or for time periods is costly. travel trailer parks are pricey. 40 years ago the cost was 25 to 50 a month it has increased 4-5 fold. plus ele and water hook ups and sewage dumps.
  2. toodling around our great country.
  a. want to stop at a restrunt ? have to mind the parking and can pull out without backing up.
  b. fast food joints ? lol NO DRIVE THROUGS. again looking cor parking and going in.
  ***** THE GREAT THING THOUGH, you have your kitchen with u. Just pull into a road side rest and cook up a meal and or take a nap.
  3. I have yet to see one tiny house build that has addrested the question of all the things and where they will endup after a trip down the road.. PLEASE FIND A COPY OF The Long, Long Trailer: Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz .. it is a movie but i tell u from towing experance it is very correct in what happens when u take on driving a trailor, camper on a truck, etc.
  One last thing befoe i go to think about. windows, quanty and placement. windows and especially where u place them reduce the integrity of the building. ask any structural enginers. one might say, well look at all the high rise buildings with all windows. but comercial buildings are a whole other thing than residentual and residentual is differant than a mobile building.

  in closing, use your brains and do alot of research.
  a good thing to do is RENT a travel trailer for a week end and go camping, like to a KOA park etc. TLk to some senior citizens who migrate from the north to the south each winter (called snoww birds )
