Maybe this is named “Gingerbread” , but it’s NOT gingerbread in style. It’s more like modern and minimalist. Gingerbread style has scrollwork and other embellishments, and is Victorian in character. Come on!

Mind, it was recently remodeled but it was originally built in the 1930’s… So they’ve made changes to it but names of houses usually hold over until a new name is given to it…

I so agree with you, Sparrow. I clicked on, because I LOVE Gingerbread homes. This is NOT gingerbread, I agree! Beautiful, of course, but not what I expected. I wonder the square footage of this home?? Alex does not say… –gv

I just used the name they gave their cottage. I will see if I can find a true gingerbread home to feature soon. As for square footage, I really don’t know the exact amount of space but we could probably make a pretty close guesstimate!

I hate to turn this site into anything leaning towards politics, but why can’t we all ease off a little bit and stop sounding like a bunch of overcorrecting liberals. They chose the name. Those wood shingles are typical to victorian houses. So, maybe they don’t have all the so-called gingerbread trim, but who cares. Enjoy what others have done to make their houses different.

This! Epic. Hope people cotton on (yeah, pun totally intended)

Get a life, you nit-pickers are a bore. Add comments that actually offer good suggestions to make things better, rather than tearing people and their houses down. The sparrow needs to fly somewhere else.

I can see the gingerbread look in the brown shingle like exterior. But the inside not so much. I’d love to stay here. If we ever make a 3rd trip to Hawaii I’ll have to look it up. Very pretty, & the bathroom is lux.

I really couldn’t see that myself. Then I right clicked the picture to open in a new tab. Then OHHH, now I see…

Its a very nice place. Call it what you will. I would love to stay here if going there.
Looks very peaceful and I like the interior. Just relax and make some gingerbread while there.

Oooh, ooooooh, I know. Let’s call it the Electric Ladyland house instead. Maybe Jimi would come back and play some surreal supernatural licks on his phantom guitar. 😂

Maybe it’s best not to comment, if you can’t say something nice..
