Tiny Cabin Overlooking Texas Hill Country

This post contains affiliate links.

The modern tiny cabin in Texas features 100 acres of hill country views and is a beautifully-designed modern abode. It has full-wall doors that open up to a two-tier porch, as well as a glass ceiling that allows you to stargaze in bed. So romantic!

The porch also has a built-in plunge pool, and inside you’ll have a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower that’s almost its own room. Finally, a kitchenette with a raw wood countertop overlooks the forest and porch. Would you stay here?

How can you stand at the sink when the breakfast bar goes right up to it. poor lay out.

Actually it doesn’t. It is just the perspective from the angle the photo was taken. It’s close, but doesn’t go right up to it. Plus it’s a short stay accommodation so for two or three days.

The breakfast bar appears to continue into the corner and serve as the right edge of the sink, but if you move the stool over (or away) you could stand at the sink. I think you’d feel like you were standing in the corner, but with all the big windows, it would be okay.

It looks like they’ve used a lot of square footage for the shower. I’d like to see a floor plan. Probably not the way I would have done it, but it looks like a pleasant space, overall.

Thanks, Allison. Seeing a floor plan for this one would be really helpful, I agree. If anyone is out there that enjoys doing floor plan sketches please contact me! 🙂

Why such a large shower? I don’t understand this concept because it’s a waste of space. I mean, how many people get into a shower this large five or six? I think it would be fun for a few uses but after that I would probably be upset that I wasted all that space. How many couples take every, or even some showers together without going back to a private shower?

Shower isn’t just a shower but also the second entrance from the porch. So it doubles as the mudroom entrance to clean up before entering the main space instead of having to go through the bedroom and the main space to get to the bathroom to clean up. While it also makes it accessible by someone in a wheelchair… Some people may also find it useful for pets, like getting their dog cleaned before entering the main space, etc.

There’s also the little pool and dealing with chlorine, etc. you may want to wash off that direct access to the shower will make convenient…
