Tiny Bunk Cabin on a Trailer

Why do you want a tiny bunk cabin on a trailer?

Is it to put in your backyard for visitors or are you going to live in it?

Tiny Bunk Cabin

I don’t think this one’s big enough for most of us to live in but it can be used as a separate micro guest house.

Or even for hobbies, the kids, or just a little getaway within your backyard, homestead or plot of land.

What would you use a little bunkhouse like this for? Would you live in it, travel in it, would it be part of your ‘compound’ of tiny houses, or would it just be a little guest house out back? I’d love to hear your thoughts about how you’d use it in the comments.

I think this would make for a great Texas Beach bunk house. A few of these near the public restrooms would be perfect rentals for tourist who want an affordable place to crash while camping along the Texas beaches.

Perfect grandkid guesthouse. Love the double doors. Plenty of room for toys, games and hanging artwork. Bonus – a sink to wash paint brushes and grubby hands. I’d add a canopy over the deck though since we live in a rainy area. Midnight pillow fights uninterrupted by grumpy adults. Flashlights for reading under the covers at night extra. You can keep it close enough to the house that the kids can run inside if they get scared after too many ghost stories but just far enough that they feel like they’re getting away with something.

You have a very vivid and sweet imagination 🙂
Your post took me right back to when I was one of those kids.

It would be very helpful if material suppliers were noted.

Love this site , keep up the great work.

Very pretty! Needs some Ikea storage solutions! There is tons of wasted space which could be used without feeling like ‘things were coming in on you’. Keep the top bunk: closet and sit down shower/toilet on floor underneath. I LOVE the lighter colors !!!!!! So much more roomy feeling too.

I’d love to know the dimensions but the original link doesn’t have it either. I think it’s about the size of the Tiny Truck Home I’m building. 🙂 Not too small for me, but then I’m short and don’t mind cozy spaces. Plus, it’ll make going outside to be with whatever nature I’ve parked by even more attractive! Well, and I’m going to have at least one large canopy to extend the living area for hanging out…

As I continue to contemplate my final design, I keep going back to bunk beds for shear practicality. Realistically, I will be flying solo for the rest of my life, but the extra bunk makes sense for guests and doesn’t take up any more floor. Gotta get started soon. I could see traveling in that. Need some kind of shower if I was living there…. Well done!

Brad could use a fold up type bunk for that extra guest. That way you could hang something on hooks or add pictures or whatever if the top bunk folded. For a lower folding bunk you could store movable items including a potable toilet.

Basically, a spare bedroom, or kids playhouse, that forces you into the main house to use the toilet, and/or shower. I’ll pass.

Could be a modified form of camping(glamping) if you stay near a shower house and toilet facilities. From the outside, it looks like a simple storage building until you open the doors. Reminds me of a few stealth trailers. Nice.

My Children live over a thousand miles from me… I also have 2 digs and a cat. My grandchildren are growing up and I’m missing everything… A Tiny house would allow us to travel to them and take our Fur Babies with us. Keeping them SAFE, Happy and Part if the whole Families Get togethers and MEMORIES.. Then when parked at HOME it could be A sewing studio and Guest quarters for visitors, allowing us to have PRIVACY and still be together.
