For 9-year-old Eli, his “dream treehouse” began as a piece of plywood where he could shoot Nerf guns from. Now, it’s an Airbnb where he and his mom raise money for charity.
When Eli told his mom he wanted a treehouse, she used it as a learning opportunity: She invested $200 into his business of selling glitter bombs and other fun trinkets at a local store. For three years he worked at his business and asked for no presents for Christmas or birthdays — he wanted 2x4s or money to go toward his treehouse! He paid back his mom and invested $6,000 into his Airbnb.
Now Eli’s dream is a reality, and he actually manages the Airbnb, helping with clean-up, greeting guests, and making sure the place is ready for the next vacationers. Check out his masterpiece below!

Description:
The treehouse has one full bed on the main level that doubles as a couch. You simply take the cover off and the couch unfolds. Upstairs in the loft are two twin beds, super comfortable and brand new as well, that are suitable for kids and adults under about 175 pounds or less than 5″6 foot tall. The total space is about 17 x 17 and is on our 5 acre property in the woods from our main house. You can walk further into the woods to be private and/or enjoy the yard closer to the house with the play equipment.

Everything about it looks wonderful. I applaud mom for supporting his dream, and being part of it. Turning it into a fundraiser and becoming self-sufficient is great. A little entreprenuer at such a young age. Like the idea that he included things for kids and adults. I was nervous to see the slide up so high and no rails, but other than that, it has my thumbs up all the way. Keep up the good work, Eli…and mom too. Brenda

Also the will and determination to totally focus on this goal for over 3 years, saving materials and money until he had enough to make this happen… Really inspirational…
There was a similar story in 2015 when a 9 year old girl built a tiny home for homeless man named Edward, having grown up with a contractor grandfather, building for most of her life with home projects she did with her mom, etc. and knowing how to design.
Another story was posted on this site in 2017 with a 11 year old boy who built a tree house…
While as amazing as these stories are, some are even more impressive like the story of Akrit Jaswal, who became the world’s youngest surgeon at 7 and has a 146 IQ…
There’s definitely a number of extraordinary and gifted young people who will one day change the world…
