This is the Scupper tiny house on wheels designed and built by Marblehead High School students in Massachusetts.

On the outside you’ll notice the gable-roof house has been primed with grey paint so the new owner’s can pick their favorite color.

The interior is unfinished, but the students assembled the framing, walls, windows, doors and the paneling. The house is 116 sq. ft. and has two lofts inside. It’s available for purchase by bid, and the official bidding starts today. See below for more details.

From the website:

The Tiny House, designed and built by Marblehead High School students, and generously funded by a grant from the Friends of Marblehead Public Schools is approximately 116 sq ft. The 1st floor built on a new 18′ Tumbleweed trailer. There are two lofts of approximately 45 and 33 sq ft each. The exterior is CVG clapboard with Anderson Silver Line tempered glass windows and a standing seam metal roof. The interior is exposed fir beam, framed and insulated with foam board insulation. Electrical is 95% roughed in and includes a 240 volt 50 amp RV power center. Loft floors are complete with tongue and groove wood.

The open house is July 18th, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Marblehead High School, 2 Humphrey Street. Bid forms due no later than July 21st. They can be obtained from Ken Lord at [email protected]

Students designed the tiny house in teams, using AutoCAD and Sketchup software. They created floor plans, elevations, framing, and detail drawings. Drawings are reviewed by an architect, structural engineer,  electrician, plumber and carpenters and built to code as possible.

The Scupper will be sold to fund the following year’s tiny house.

What a good job these students have done! Would you post how much the students were able to sell it for?

I totally agree with Gale, about young people getting real life skills. I find too many of them have too much time on their hands and getting into trouble.
Good job guys! Keep it up, you are doing good!
