This Tiny House is Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright

Loosely based on Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie homes, the latest design from Firefly Tiny features “low flat overhangs and windows with sweeping views.” In fact, there are 12 windows in this tiny home!

A ground-floor bedroom a with full-height ceiling sits at one end, and a 3/4 bathroom with a residential toilet takes up the other side. In the middle, you’ll find a living, dining, and kitchen space decked out with stunning mid-century accents. What do you think of the Prairie?

Yes, it is great a the number of windows open the space even more up. I like the downstairs bedroom although there is no wardrobe and I would turn the bed in the way that you sleep along. Great living space.
The upper windows would be perfect for cross ventilation but firstly they seems to be fixed and secondly they are on one side only.
I dislike the dining arrangement beside each other and would prefer facing each other. The sliding windows aren’t my thing because they provide half opening only and they aren’t good in hurricanes and strong winds. The outside color may be fine when it’s cold but they catch heat in our FL climate.
A 100 k THOW should be perfect for the owners.

Mmmmmm scones! I would like some clotted cream with those. LOL It is cute and bright but I hardly think of Frank Lloyd Wright when I see this except for the dark outside.

I agree with you Victoria. This home is far from what Frank Lloyd Wright built. Wright designed and built lovely and sometimes unusual homes. This TH doesn’t have that style. Yes I know; personal preference.

Nope, it actually is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Many of the design elements are there… Just doesn’t mean they would be as good at it as the original, which is why it’s called inspired by instead of claiming it to be the same…

What a beautiful home! This one I could definitely live in! Love the lines, and pretty much everything about it! But as someone else pointed out, few windows on the back, which limits cross-ventilation.

I would install a smaller kitchen sink (not a sink that is unnecessarily big) to have much needed counter top space. Cupboards instead of floating shelves. Also I would trade the king bed for a queen. The dresser could be taller and less wide so getting out of bed would be easier. Yes I know; others have a difference of opinion, wants and needs.

I would say this is one of the nicest Tinies I have seen. I love the clean lines and even the color of the outside as well as the inside aesthetic are very nice. It is easy to see the influence of Wright and we must all admit that it would be hard to get much closer to his designs in a Tiny. Some might say it should just be called contemporary or modern but everyone describes it the way it best suits them. I like the roominess of this one and can imagine my own furniture and artwork making it a very pleasant place to live, for sure. Everyone will have their own tweaks, of course, and the one comment about something that costs $100K should be perfect for whoever is buying is absolutely right…and this one would be perfect for someone without any changes, I’m sure. Thanks for sharing!

Could you please tell me what the size of this THOW is. Thank you.

It’s a model they can produce at different sizes. The cantilever puts it 2 feet longer than the trailer and presently they only have the standard width trailers available at 26′ dual axle, 28′ triple axle, and 30′ triple axle for 28′, 30′, and 32′ versions of this model. The 10′ wide trailers are currently not available… Price starts at $98,950…

The one shown is dual axle, so that’s on the 26′ length trailer and the whole structure is thus 28′ long, with standard road legal width and height for THOWs…
