Introducing the Prairie Dog by Indigo River Tiny Homes. This tiny house was custom built for the owner. She had collected materials, windows, appliances, and exotic woods that she wanted incorporated in the construction of her home. The features of the home include:
- Fiberglass SIPs construction.
- Itās 8āw x 24āL x 13ā6āh at approximately 7,500lbs total weight
- Arch-top windows and 6 portal windows
- Propane Tankless hot water heater
- Mini-Split A/C and Heat Pump
- 50-amp RV electric connection
- RV Fresh Water and Sewer Connections
- Custom cabinetry with exotic wood mosaic on cabinet doors
- Live-edge wood slab counter top
- Exotic wood stair case ā each step, riser and spindle is a different wood. The hand rail is made from a raw cedar post.
- Exotic wood mosaic wall and barn door ā with over 10 different types of wood
- Exotic wood trim around windows
- Murphy bed with exotic wood mosaic
- Claw foot bathtub
- Custom vanity, milled from raw cedar post, cedar slab and teak wood basin with waterfall faucet
- Custom wood light feature
- Custom wood Mirror
- 12ft. deep sleeping loft

Beautiful! I love the different wood design & also love the Staircase. It’s also neat to see the loft having its own door.
Very nice. But I don’t understand why the sink is not in the center of the cabinet and why the faucet is not in the center of the sink.
Angled fixtures allow them to fit into tighter spaces… You’ll find similar in RV’s and boats…
For single handle faucets, some people also like to keep it closer to their dominant hand, especially, if they’re the only one going to use it… or simply where it will be the least in the way in terms of counter space, etc.
Well, the owner got what she wanted. I hope she is happy with the final result. For me, this is the ugliest tiny house I’ve ever seen. Cute outside, nightmare inside. Sorry to be so critical but you asked for a comment. I’ve never commented on any of the houses on this site but this one cannot be ignored.

Sorry, Laura, but I agree with Nancy, this is a WOW house! Stunning in its use of rare woods- such a delightful contrast to the “throw the plywood up” segment. For those of us who LOVE wood, and truly appreciate these extraordinary rare lumber, this is a Stunner. Yes, it IS true that there are a LOT of colors here, so the resident must be careful not to clash and clutter. A good interior designer here could be very helpful to a resident to make this artwork a truly livable and appreciated space. This THOW is the Guggenheim of Thows!
I have to say I kind of agree with Lura. There are features I really do like such as the door on the loft. However, for me there is too much, way too much of the exotic wood – makes it way to busy — one would tire of it quickly. Don’t get your knickers in a twist as I think the design is great and it is well crafted and you did not choose the “exotic wood”. If one tried to decorate the interior it would only look busier such as putting up pictures etc. She really had to be in love with that wood — it is just complete over kill – I could not stand to be inside that for more than a couple minutes and I would have to run screaming out of it.
