The Owl House Micro Cabin: Funky Simple Living or Hip Vacation Rental?

This post contains affiliate links.

This one reminds me of my buddy Deek over at RelaxShacks.com because 1) it’s a micro cabin.

2) It’s really funky. And 3) it’s a an owl cabin! And as far as I know, Deek likes owls.

The owl house also reminds me of Deek’s UB30 cabin that he built for his brother Dustin for his 30th birthday. So in case you’re interested in staying in the micro owl cabin, it’s located in Sandhills, Hightown, United Kingdom.

You are welcome to use both.

There is plenty of room for parking at the front of the property.
This space is accessible to wheelchair users. I have a wet room, ramps and the kitchen is a lowered height.

Access to the bathroom facilities will be possible from 8am till 10am and from 6pm till 10pm at night. At all other times, if I am out then the bungalow will be locked up. However if I am in your welcome to use the facilities in the bungalow.
Tea and coffee is in your room for you to help yourself.”

“There is a brilliant cycle/walk/run path that takes you 5 miles along the coast to Crosby and Waterloo, where you will pass by 120 of the famous Anthony Gormley Sculptures on Crosby beach.

Hightown is a quiet place, we have all the basics, a post office, a little shop, a pub, a children’s play area, the beach, and that is basically it. It is perfect place to take stock and to relax.

There is a railway 5mins away by foot, within 10mins by train you can visit the Formby Pinwoods where you can enjoy watching the rare Red Squirrels in there natural habitat. Formby also has a wonderful beach that stretches 10 miles or more ! There are many walks you can take through the dunes, along the beach or into the pinewoods. After which there are many good restaurants in the village where you can sample delicious food and wine. Formby is peppered with charity shops which are great to browse through !!

The vibrant Capital City of Culture, Liverpool is just 20mins away by train or car. There you can find so much to do and see, museums, The Tate Gallery, The Albert Dock, and Art, Theatre, Restaurants ! There is a great artistic community you must try the famous Mellomello Cafe, Peacocks or Leaf on Bold Street .

I know my way about the area very well, and I am happy to advise you if I can.

This is a no smoking area, but you are welcome to smoke outside.”

Great use of recycled materials and living roof!

Does not appear to be insulated or sealed for harsh climates but a very interesting design.

Yes, you’re right. If it doesn’t leak, I’d like to have it… providing it’s warm in the winter!

How’s that saying go? “If you remember the ’60’s, you weren’t livin’ it right!” (LOL) In my Hippie-Dippie days (or daze) I stayed in waaaay too many places like this…and lived to tell the tale! ~snort~

I’m used to Tea Time in the U.K. but PEE Time? No loo or outhouse except by posted hours? Nope, not for me, any longer! And trying to regulate your bodies needs around when the loo is available…..???? Also, says nothing about when the kitchen is available.

My DD’s flatmate is bonkers about All.Things.Owl. so this would be perfect for a Millennial who’s kippin’ about Europe. As for my tired ol’ arse, I’ll stay at an Extended Stay hotel with a proper kitchen and loo so I don’t have to wag my finger at my bladder and say, “Not NOW, dearie! You must wait another EIGHT hours to release!”

It would be nice, if it were a home, but it’s not, it’s a hotel.

“Access to the bathroom facilities will be possible from 8am till 10am and from 6pm till 10pm at night.” Seriously? There is only access to a bathroom 6 hours a day?

Is it ok to say ‘loveable’ about a space? My first thought was – what a cool and loveable space. Appealing to both the young and those of us still young at heart 🙂

THIS IS SOME MICRO OWL, I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO SEE THE KITCHEN AREA AS WELL. THE EXTERIOR, SEEMS TO HAVE SOME OF THE CONCEPTS TAKEN FROM THE LATE DICK CLARK’S MANSION.

Where is the “bungalow” located in relation to the “owl house”? Even if its next door I’m not interested in staying somewhere without a bathroom. A few hours of access? I just don’t get it.
