  👎👎🏾👎🏼you can get a standard “cookie cutter” bunk rv/toy hauler starting almost half that.

    Sure, but it would be nearly as comfortable, winter proof, durable, long lasting, or custom at all… While you can’t take a massive toy hauler to the places you can a small camper.

    Always trade offs, depends what you want out of it…

  James you are wrong. I just looked at a 30 feet travel trailer for 46,000.00 and it had a separate bed room,bathroom with flush toilet and a sink and storage. A living area with a couch,fire place. A big kitchen with a stove,big frig,lots of cabinets and a eating area. All brand new.

    No, it’s just not about being new or the size of the layout… It’s about how it’s built and what you actually can get out of it… Understand that Uncharted Tiny Homes is a Tiny House builder and this is basically a THOW optimized to be used as a camper. So there’s a lot of details that are different than what you would get with a regular RV travel trailer.

    Typical RV has only about an inch and half thick walls, which means little to no insulation and they’re most certainly not air-tight and that means the actual effective insulation is even less and not much better than a regular vehicle. So you’re going to need to spend a lot to heat and cool that travel trailer, which for cooling is going to be hard to do off-grid, and most likely won’t be able to use the plumbing in winter because the pipes and tanks won’t be protected or able to deal with extreme temperatures for very long.

    Even in warm conditions, if you look at large travel trailers in warm climate areas you’d note they can have 2-3 roof AC units, for an idea of what it takes to cool them vs most THOWs needing just 1 mini-split that’s typically overkill for most THOWs, and most RV’s aren’t going to have durable roofs you can count on for decades like most THOWs…

    This unit has R25 Spray Foam, which is even higher than most THOWs. Along with providing a very good air and moisture barrier. Even the 6 awning windows are Duel Pane. So it’s ready for extreme conditions you wouldn’t be able to take most RV’s.

    The travel trailers that do have decent insulation, with over 3″ thick walls are typically over $100K. Add, you’re not going to take a large travel trailer everywhere you can a smaller rugged camper. Unless you’re in a country like Austalia, where it’s more common to find rugged RVs, most RV’s in the states aren’t great for ruggedness and dealing with off-road conditions, and again, those that are, like the New 2022 Black Series Travel Trailer RV Hq19, goes for $59,995 for what just being rugged can cost but isn’t any bigger than this unit for a more apples to apples comparison for what it’s actually offering…

    While I can point out examples like Grand Design prices rising 6.5 to 8% to show RV pricing has gone up. Part of this is due to issues like the ongoing supply chain problems. Dealerships may only have 20-25% of the inventory now that they normally have on their lots and the usual sales price can be less than they usually give.

    You’re also usually stuck with whatever you find on the lot for model units. While a custom builder can make a list of changes and optional upgrades if you want to better tailor it to your needs that for RV manufacturers they typically charge a very high premium that can be multiple times and higher than the regular model pricing.

    Thing to always keep in mind is details matter and they’re not all the same, nor is it just about size all the time. Depending on what you want out of it can make a world of difference!

  It’s great, ho question asked. However, I think going remote the width of 8.5 ft is probably a minus.
  Off Road trailers are usually not exceeding the towing vehicle. Beside that I didn’t find any specs about the trailer used.
  Beside that the bunk beds aren’t my thing. Instead of putting the queen size bed above the sofa i would turn it and make a it lift up to the ceiling one across driving direction. Doing this it would be out of the way if not in use.
  I would shrink the sofa into a 2-seater in front of the bathroom wall which makes space for dining and lounging with foldable chairs and table.
