I really like the layout of this tiny house! The colors also give it a homey feel. I also like the closet area.
Just had one question, is the toilet made out of a cooler?!

Yeah, looks like it! I guess that’s a good way to keep it from leaking (don’t forget to close the ice drain!) and its probably easy to drag outside to clean. I thought it was hilarious.

I like this house….but some of you guys must live in la-la land to think most people would give $50K for this house or even close to that amount….unless it comes with a little land.

It is a small loft with cozy familiar feeling

Am I the only one who thinks for $50k one should get a modern composting toilet and not one that looks like a bucket sawdust composting toilet?

And it’s a COOLER to boot!!!! $50k is ludicrous, period.

Well, you don’t have to buy it. But, if you haven’t already read their website (see link above) it has little niceties like 12 volt and 11 volt plug connections. It has solar panels and two deep cycle AGM batteries. There is a Dickinson marine heater, which ain’t cheap, but they are apparently very good. Have to be otherwise they wouldn’t sell many of them to sailor boys ‘n gals.

The sink in the kitchen is big(ish) and square, not the piddly almost useless round shaped one that we see in the original Leaf house, and so many other THOW’s. Square/oblong is far more practical for washing dishes.

In many ways I like this better than the original Leaf 3 house.

Is the price expensive? To many people yes. To others it would be about right and a few might think it is too cheap. Wherever you sit on the price range is a reflection on your financial position and what value you put on the THOW as a whole and the various components that make it what it is.

And I totally agree with Martha’s comment. Move along to the next one. Personally I do that with houses which I only need to look at the outside and can see it wouldn’t be for me. And when I remember some of the earlier home made jobs (circa 2012ish), well I shudder. But that’s my right and I, like you, am entitled to my opinion.

Wow, it has 12 volt & 11 volt plug connections. Sweet :>0)
          Sorry, couldn’t resist.

What if you add up the cost of materials, maybe paying an electrician, plumber, etc. Maybe you can do the construction yourself, but whoever build this house is probably a professional. When you add on the costs, and then an amount of profit for the one who paid the outlay for all this stuff, I don’t think $50k is outrageous. If you do, just go on to the next model on Alex’s list and forget this one. Personally, I like many features about it and think the space has been very well used. That’s only my opinion, of course.

Yup, definitely a professional cooler conversion job. Sorry, but that’s a deal-breaker.

Yeah… but think of the cool s**t that goes down eh?

OK, look at the benefits of the toilet. Waste goes into an easily cleaned interior chamber. Tick number 1. Exhaust vent attached to chamber venting smells. Tick number 2. Pretty cheap container that comes prebuilt. Tick number 3.

Paying $600+ for a normal commercial composting toilet, now that’s a deal breaker for me.

Eric, you forgot the most important feature on the toilet…a cup holder so you don’t have to leave that beer to take a dump.

Looks like a copy of the Leaf House from Canada… but not quite as nice. I love the roof line of these and such a clever staircase design.

Very nice home with a decent price tag. It might be a bit high for some, but l think very affordable over all. Like a lot of the design elements inside. The toilet is funny. Should of moved the seat over a little more to take advantage of the cup holder under the seat. Nice job on this.

    While it may be sort of nice — I am with all those who say the price is way too high. That is the problem with a movement when everyone starts jumping on the band wagon with dollar signs in their eyes. You can buy a really nice, well constructed, fully appointed park model for less than half that asking price and you would not have to be living in an 8 x 20 space unless you really wished too. You could also have it built so you could still tow it yourself. The most costly amenity in this is the heater and I think they cell for around $1,500.00. The money is just not there. But everyone should truly enjoy their own abode and does not matter what others may think. I have some swamp land in Florida if you need a place to park it. LOL :- }

A very well lay out and thought out project PERFECT!.. But I wouldn’t go one dollar over 50 thousand for any tiny house. 50k would be my absolute maximum..

I just read the Tiny House Talk newsletter I received on 11/10/17. It appears that Wishbone Tiny Homes no longer builds the homes included in this issue of the newsletter (I discovered this by clicking on Gallery). I noticed the date of the TH Talk newsletter was September 2016. A lot can happen in a year in the TH world!

They do build a 200-sq.-ft. TH that you can view on their website, although there are no pictures of the unit. Just a floor plan and artist’s rendering of the exterior. Looks like it could be very functional.

Parting thought: I wonder if they sell plans for the discontinued models?

    $250 a freaking square foot?

    Freaking ridiculous.

    Ridiculously expensive.

San Francisco (my girlfriend owns some nice properties in the Mission and Sunset districts) is not much worse.

    IMHO: FAIL!

  • Brian Ansorge

San Francisco: 2nd highest (per sq. ft.) building costs in the US at $330.

    This “tiny house?”

    $250.

    What’s the point?

If I’m going to get “cramped and squished, and compromised,” I’m not going to go broke getting all that.

    Just saying.

Layout is not bad. Just add a comfy sofa and a decent toilet😁😆 and I could live in it!
