The Log Pod Tiny Cabin

Trevor Richardson is the creator of The Log Pod tiny cabins. So here’s quick story of how these tiny houses came to be.

A few years ago Trevor was looking for ways to increase the number of visitors to his new campsite so he began looking into teepees and yurts.

The problem was that this didn’t exactly fit the bill for his needs. So he began developing his own ideas of a wooden tent.

He also wanted to have something that can be moved around the camp site or even towed to another property if needed.

Since he couldn’t find exactly what he was looking for he decided to go to work on designing and building his own.

Suffice to say that the first prototype was born shortly afterward. Today, the pods have gone through their own evolution and the design includes a 4′ porch in the front so you can hang out outside during the rain.

Tiny Log Pod Cabin Camping

When the first tiny cabin arrived at the camp the people that were currently camping were already excited about it.

It was such an instant success that a second cabin was built almost right after. This led to people contacting Trevor about ordering their own Log Pod.

And why they’re manufacturing and selling their tiny cabins to owners of:

  • Campsites
  • Fishing lodges
  • Outdoor activity centers
  • Nature reservations
  • Meditation centers
  • Retreats

Growing Alternative to Tent Camping: Glamping

Mostly, I like to focus on the application of small spaces in our everyday lives. This post addresses a trend where people are becoming more willing to camp and see nature if they don’t have to stay in a tent.

Little cabins like this one serve as a way for people to go camping without actually roughing it as much as you would be by pitching a tent. So if your spouse or children can’t take the outdoors as easily as you, this can be a way to get them to go camping anyway.

So glamping is a new term being used for those who are camping with amenities. In some ways you can call it luxury camping and I believe we will see this trend continue to grow. Why do you think more and more people are looking for more convenient ways to go camping?
