This is the Firebird Tiny House on Wheels built by Eric Bohne (of Alter Areas) using mostly recycled materials with the help of his family (Roxanne, Audrey, Bella, Bunny and Kasper).
It’s a steel-framed tiny house built on a 17’x8′ trailer bed which was purchased for $1,000. Previously, the trailer was part of a concession stand which caught fire and burned down (hence the name, The Firebird). Today it’s being used as the foundation for this awesome micro home that you can rent a stay in if you’re ever in the Portland, Oregon area so it makes a great addition to our tiny house vacations category.

The video really showcases this TH nicely. I love the cat walk and lofts. The decor is edgy but in a really good way. Nicely done!
The video was great (not padded with a lot of talk). Loved the catwalk. I like the whimsy of the stairs (I don’t care if they are practical or not); I just like the stairs a lot. Looks very cozy, like real people live in it. Very nice.
I really like the stairs too. I wasn’t so sure from the pictures but once I saw the video they really grew on me.

Could be called the Phoenix since it “rose up out of the ashes”. . .
Nice and spacious-for a tiny house! Love the use of the lofted space-I can just imagine a damp, wet evening curled up on the sofa with a hot bowl of popcorn watching a great movie, while at the same time listening to the rain on the roof! So nice and cozy!! There are only two things that bother me about the downstairs. I didn’t like the rack on the counter that held the dishes-it made the room seem crowded and blocked the window. The other thing is while I really liked the look of the metal stairs-they took up so much room. If a few people (2+) were down there at the same time, the people flow could get awkward. It also blocks the use of the space behind the stairs.

How tall is it? Can it be pulled over the road?
Definately don’t want to get up on the wrong side of the bed.
There’s that roof again. I’m becoming a big fan of the low slant roof over the flat shed style.
TJ this is my favorite roof style, slightly rounded over the roof is also nice. I believe this is a full gabled roof. Slant is more like a shed, high on one side and low on the other. I like this style because the high point is in the middle and the outer edge is about 1 ft lower.

The double loft is great. It could also be made into a 2 bedroom if there were kids. The stairs are nice and safe for us oldies who may have problems with stairs. I would change the layout of the downstairs a bit to use up some of the wasted space but all in all, a nice home. (I wish I still had my beautiful sold gold Firebird that I sold to accommodate hauling around grandkids)
Love the catwalk. But I would need a guardrail to keep the ol’ death wish from being a problem, lol. I’d like to see other th builders pick up this idea.
I like the feel of this home very much. The cat walk for newfound be better if it were not over the kitchen/prep area. I got a thing about stuff falling down on food while cooking, and/or the thought of it. Nic job on the home over all.

I was wondering what this one looked like in the day, so I watched the video hoping to find out… Sorry I did that, I liked it better dimly lit… All the exposed piping was a really big turn off to me……
Liked it the first time, like it even better this time. I so love when people build to their own plan. This is great in so many ways. I love that bar in back of the couch. So cleverly done.
I thought the inside a little dark but to each his own. this is very well done and a lot of great ideas. Love the stairs, I am retired Navy and reminds me of my days on the ships. Love it. Like Marsha Cowan said I would of called it the Phoenix also.
I am pleased to see someone take advantage of a walkway such as this which was employed so often in the early two story trailer homes. It gives you the opportunity to stand up and dress while in the loft areas.
I too liked the music.
