The dimensions are 14′ x 14′ x 14′ and 196 square feet.

You can easily install a composting toilet in the bathroom and there’s room for an on-demand water heater above the toilet.

There’s a closet above the bathroom where you can stack the washer and dryer.

Downstairs there’s a fully functional kitchen with a microwave and a 20″ apartment-size stove.

From the plans, it looks as though the bathroom is next to the kitchen. My wife refuses to have the bathroom next to the kitchen, which causes problems in my small house designing dreams. However, here, the closet (with the stacked washer/dryer combo) could simply swap places with the bathroom and all would be good. I would also suggest replacing the full time bed with a Murphy Bed/couch combo. This swap would add seating/relaxing space downstairs for the floor hog of a full time bed and would even allow the upstairs to become a kid’s room if needed. I like the overall design and believe that adding a balcony to the top floor greatly increases the usable living space on the balcony and below it.

Thanks for the suggestions Carey. Definitely agree with your wife, having the Bath next to the Kitchen is also one of my biggest pet peeves. All of us tiny house lovers who have ever put pencil to graph paper quickly discovered that tiny becomes synonymous with compromise. The overall height of the home would have to be a bit taller to accommodate the bath in either location… easy fix. A Murphy style bed would be too tall for the cube but a sofa bed or futon would work definitely work great in that area. Please contact me through Cozy so I can send you some renderings of your suggestions.

I REALLY like this design…a LOT! I agree that a sofa bed is the perfect solution to achieving more sitting space, yet maintaining an intimate feel in that room. Move the bathroom, and the CUBE is perfection!
Although there are similarities with each tiny house, this one by COZY has incorporated some differences that make it stand out as unique! It screams home….not house!
I am quite impressed, so I would like to know more about the designer and just how I can see more of his homes.

Seems strange to have the bed near the entry door on lower level. Think I’d agree a futon or hide-a-bed couch would be better. If I understand the layout from the drawings it appears the laundry is on lower level near the bed away from the kitchen. I’m guessing there’s room in the laundry for a toilet and small lavatory. If so, this is a good design.
We were shopping at Lowes builders’ supply today and spotted a tiny house & cabin plans book which I thought was interesting. Since we were looking at lumber we didnt get it but may go back later for it.

I love all the designs for the tiny houses, and this design. In the state of Illinois, the law to build is pretty strict. Two ways out and wiring plumbing, floor plans, on where it will sit, and the foundation of course. I wanted to build one of these in my Mothers back 40, and told no, no house, no tent, no nothing. Plus they consider it a house not a trailer, and the insurance here would kill me to have to pay it, insurance it, like it was a home on a firm foundation even tho the “house” is on wheels. Illinois is just a NO State!

    Hey hows it going Alex,
I recently purchased the “Cozy Cube” floor plan from Kevins website and received a link to download the plan sets but upon opening the file it was corrupted and would not allow me to open it. I am trying to contact Kevin but have not had any luck as of yet. I was wondering if Kevin and his website were reachable so I could resolve this issue and receive my floor plans to begin construction in the very near future. Any help in contact Kevin or help would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Travis Bolgiano
