The Classic: A 20-ft. Tiny House by Indigo River Tiny Homes

This post contains affiliate links.

Here’s a tiny house on wheels that feels just like tinies “of old.” Appropriately named “The Classic,” this 20 ft. tiny home has the standard layout of many original tiny homes, but this one does upgrade with a storage staircase featuring a unique alternating step.

The loft bedroom is carpeted to make it extra comfortable, and there’s a nice bathroom next to the L-shaped kitchen. On the other end of the tiny house, there’s just enough room for a small couch. A flip-down bar sits in front of two large windows for a great eating spot. It’s for sale now for $56,000 and will be available to tour at the Gather & Create Tiny Home Festival on May 6 & 7 (more info here).

20-ft. Tiny House on Wheels

It has cool off-set steps leading to the loft.

There’s a large living area and a flip-down bar.

I’d put a couch along the back window.

The breakfast bar has two large windows.

You can put a chair or couch here.

I’m always into those retro-style fridges.

The loft is carpeted for extra comfort.

I love all the closed storage here.

A two-burner cooktop in the kitchen.

I like the rustic countertops and exposed beams.

Beautiful cabinets and lighting.

I like that all the storage is hidden with cabinet doors.

There’s a large kitchen sink.

I like the grips on the staircase.

A fire alarm is a must!

Here’s the bathroom.

A nice flush toilet.

Could you live in this THOW?

My gosh, this is a pleasant surprise! Nice looking, roomy, lots of light, nice simple kitchen, storage stairs —- and I LOVE what this plan did with the layout of the steps! I LOVE even more the reasonable pricing. I know that costs to build have gone up unreasonably (and every one from the plumber to the butcher blamed the pandemic) and therefore there won’t ever be any more 20 footers for $34k. I have seen 20 footers for $89-90k, or more for overkill luxe models. I can live with this price and the style of building that means. I hope Monarca stays in the business and keeps building. Congratulations! : D

This is a nice home, though the steps are awfully dangerous. A definite trip and fall hazard waiting to happen. If this home were to be for sale I can see where a great deal of folks would turn around and walk out for that reason alone.

Couldn’t agree with you more on the lack of a railing (which could be easily added!) I am not young, so a railing or some kind of hand hold is a major concern!! However, these steps are what I call “half steps” because the are only half as wide as regular steps. Looking down at where you place each foot would be a sensible thing here. But the good news is, because these steps actually use less space for the amount of space they each climb, your overall stairs is not as steep as in most tiny homes. This stule takes some getting used to, but once done, they are safe!
