One thing I’ve noticed, and this is very much a personal thing to me, is that decks that fold down from the TH are invariably too small. You stand up and you are almost falling off. As they can be secured well enough for transportation there is no logical reason why they cannot be deeper so that you don’t have to be overly careful when standing up from your deck chair etc.

I’m with you on this one: I’d like to see the deck the full height of the wall up to under the overhang. Why not? They aren’t so heavy that they can’t be let down by one person, and the protection to that end of the house when in transit is worth the extra wood. On the underside of the deck, a metal frame with swing down feet could be used on which to affix the wood of the deck. It would operate like a Murphy bed. I suppose if you wanted to get fancy, one could have some kind of wincing system to raise and lower the deck. But I’m for a bigger deck, too. How else can friends come for an evening visit and sit out with you?

    Very professional build style.

An actual staircase with a railing! That sold me. But then I saw the composting toilet, and it lost me. BUT I suppose a regular flush toilet could be installed if I were thinking of buying this? Anyway, this is a very well-planned tiny house. How much does it cost, I wonder?

Sparrow, In the text that is always at the start of these entries is the link to the builder where you will see examples of their models and prices.

The thing is Sparrow, if you have a flush toilet, then you need to be permanently hooked up to water, and permanently hooked up to sewage lines. That kind of defeats the purpose of putting a tiny house on wheels, the whole point of which is mobility. There will always be compromises when going small. There are smaller composting toilets on the market and RV chemical toilets which are another option if you want to remain mobile. But if you want to flush and forget you are going to be grounded.

Holy mackerel !! It used to be that most people who bought tiny homes were people who have little money, but homes like this one, priced at $65,000 are WAY out of range of the original intended home buyer. Once they left the $40,000 range, they became a novelty. I dream of a tiny home, but I’ve waited too late. They used to be reasonable, but now I can’t afford one. That’s too bad, because tiny home builders are losing a lot of potential buyers. I’m going to purchase a shed and turn it into my tiny mansion.

Notice the heaters on the walls? Nice. I have one of those in my bedroom in a nice small cottage. Does the trick. Don’t have to heat the entire house to stay warm.

This is a nice place. Though if it does cost $65K to purchase, wouldn’t one be smarter to invest in an 80 foot double wide mobile home, which has three to four BR, full bath of one or more, full kitchen, and just pay lot rent? If you intend to travel with it, the fuel per mile will likely be more than lot rent any how. Just saying because these high prices for a completed trailer home is becoming something only wealthy people can afford.

Interesting; this is the same builder and basic layout as the Freedom (I think it was?) but I don’t like this one nearly as much. I guess finishes really do count!
