With the all new Tesla Cybertruck coming out, is it something that you’re going to consider if you already have or are going to build or buy a tiny house on wheels? The truck looks like no other vehicle on the road, something definitely out of the future, or a sci-fi film, and it starts at $39,900.
If you think you would want your tiny house to match the futuristic style of this electric truck from Tesla, you could always build a mostly metal/stainless-steel covered tiny house, kind of like this one from Seattle Tiny Homes. Can you say clickbait?
The only trailer to tow by an EV is a light, aero one.
And the larger of these is going to need a larger than base CT.
The Bowlus is the best by far as light, very aero, thus longer range, easier to tow and best looks.
Several of these should only be towed to where they permanently stay.
You haven’t looked at the specs… They’re claiming the max configuration can tow up to 300,000 pounds!
Standard 4 wheel drive version is still up to 14,000 lbs and the basic model only goes down to 7,500 pounds…
They would have to fall far short of those promised specs for it not to be able to tow just about anything you could possibly want to tow. Though, still a question of whether the range is sufficient while towing…
I said it would need an upgrade as several of these trailers are well over 7500lb rating of the base model. The biggest model has huge power.
Elon’s path is strewn with people like you saying he can’t do what says. This will be wildly successful, already 250k deposits and the tech is sound, big auto is in for a rude awakening.
And if Musk makes a smaller version and a van version in both sizes, big auto is in big trouble. It’ll likely end up the VW bug of pickups in the future.
All truck companies advertise their highest configuration specs and show the full range of what they can tow…
What was a good example of click bait is when Ford pulled a train with it’s EV F-150 that’s coming out in 2021… Click bait is false advertisement… People know they have to get the highest configuration to tow the most but feats beyond normal usage for even the highest end configuration is what most would consider click bait.
I believe it’s click-bait too. Another one of Elon’s fantasies. He actually has more vehicles in his vaporware column (I think it’s 5 now) versus the ones in actual production (which is 3).
Check back in a year or two to see if it’s going to be actually built.

I would love to be able to use this truck for my towing vehicle. I know it would have to be the tri motor but the only thing holding me back would be the size of the bed. I want 8 ft. not 6 ft. as advertised. I have things to go in the bed and need the two feet extra. I also would want to see the style of cover for my bed since I would want to protect my equipment in the bed. I hope also by the production time that they would have a larger battery available.
In regards to a bed cover, everything I’ve seen shows that the Cybertruck has a built-in retractable hard tonneau cover. I would imagine that it’s a standard item, rather than an option, since that pseudo-teardrop design will increase the eMPG (equivalent MPG) of the truck. 2 words sum it up. Incredibly Ugly. It will fail on that alone. Showed this to 20 people … and 20 people all said no way would we buy something this ugly.
