That looks like a good size for living in and traveling. It should be able to park in most parking spaces while giving the owner a decent amount of living area in there. Drivability? What’s this bus handle like when driving it? Solar powered means they won’t have to park near electrical outlets.

I love this ! Not because it’s a remarkable build but because it’s so refreshing to see a young person doing something unconventional & shooting for some independence. Eight days to build it, cool. Just grab some lumber, some apple crates, some fasteners, & have at it. Build what you think you need, you can always modify it in the future. Don’t have to depend on roommates. For what he has in the bus, he couldn’t rent a place for 1 year. This bus is gonna teach him valuable lessons & he has a mobile pad to boot. Way to go !

I don’t have time with my crazy work schedule to comment on everything is this blog, as much as I would like to, but anytime a teen takes this much initiative to do something this creative and useful, it just has to be commented on. Great job! Keep us posted of anything else that you do to it in the future, or any adventures you have in it. Thanks!

Nice that you finally have that bus and that your intentions are in the right direction…kudos to you…seriously
Please do not take this the wrong way, nor personally as I only wish to share my thoughts to the result of your reno to the most important feature…that bus.
I can only assume you wish to make this bus look as good inside as as does on the outside, correct?
Get your family/friends together and create your best intentions of turning the interior into something that you can take your Gal into feeling proud of what you truly are capable of achieving.

Great Job! This young man knows what he wants in life and the value of money. I remember when in my undergraduate and masters how expensive it was. Love the fact that he recycled to build the inside. Since he is in college, he has the availability of using the gym showers. Love his companion GSD.

One gal of some Rustoleum gloss white, some thinner, and a short nap roller would go a long way to help cool down this little solar oven. There is plenty of You Tube to tell how how to do it.

    Hi,
You have done pretty well for your bus home. I’m proud of you.
You might try the truck stop store for some black out curtains to give you
more privacy and keep the snoops away from the bus. Also helps with the cold. You might try some 1″ foam panels for the windows to help keep the heat in. Look at more of the tiny house sites and you can find a few others who have built in buses their new homes. I’m sure they would advice a young man should you need any advice that is. Mine were just tips cuz you said about the hat meaning you still got cold. These were heating tips I picked up from reading and watching people like yourself who did this.
God bless you and your schooling. I hope you get the future you are working so hard for. Happy trails!

It’s only a very ruff start in my opinion, and would have to go the whole way and build it all out as though it was going to be my permanent tiny house… But best of luck to him….!
