SunRay is the man. Connected to nature which I hardly ever see in the link.

Magic magic magic. And the water and the sky!! I can imagine that his garden is pretty wondrous, as well. 😉

How did we give up life for corporate boxes with 30 year mortgages? Bizarre development to live in ugly boxes with a lifetime of slavery attached.

Rebecca, I couldn’t have said it better myself. When you look at it like that, the insanity of the system the human race has created is incredible. It’s inspiring to see so many people thinking of ways to reclaim our freedom.

I’ve seen other unique homes built along these lines on HGTV in a series called “Unique Homes”. I always go bananas when I see this type of architecture; Sunray is right to note the magic.
Maybe we need a category “Magical Homes”; what do you think, Alex? 🙂
Thanks for sharing this; truly awesome. Hope to see more.
Sunray Kelley is the man!!! 😀

HOW’ do you get PERMITS for these kinds of homes anyway ????????

I’m lucky to grow up where I did get to experience a few Sun Ray creations…being young and exposed to this kind of architecture as part of everyday living is an awesome thing, for sure! I know some of these building were built in counties that had “experimental building permits” available. Many rural counties have these kinds of permits, highly populated areas rarely do. Then you have to work directly with county officials, make lots of phone calls, have lots of patience and even more composure! I know for some it was not an easy battle but willingness to negotiate and the desire to have the dwelling of their dreams be legally compliant resulted in success!

I almost spewed coffee on my iPad when I read the vagina comment, thanks that was hysterical! Moving right along, wouldn’t it be nice if we were “allowed” to be more creative in our neighborhoods?

At some point in the not too distant future, I’d like to find a piece of property to build whatever the heck I want to build to live in for my retirement years and, have enough space between the neighbors and myself so as not to “be illegal” in my home design.

I wanted to hear and see more! I love Sunday’s homes! It looks like he’s still building homes. Are these homes on a compound in the south? I wish there were pictures of the inside of the houses that show the inspiration for each of the homes. He didn’t state the inspiration and name of the ‘vaginas house’ others are calling it. Can he build homes out of mulch, it’s free here in Fort Myers, FL?

The houses in the video are from Washington, all the sun Ray homes I know of are in wet parts of the west coast… But really, everyone can make houses like these, it’s our mind that thinks we can’t. Natural Building techniques are simple- just takes time, creativity and heart! Oh, and good land.

Thank you for sharing Alex! I love “different“. Some people are raised to think “different“ = wrong. Well, I disagree. I would be a proud parent when/if my kids grew up NOT well adjusted to society. I pray my boys use their natural gifts and talents like Sunray did! 👍🏼
