SunRay Kelley Built Forest House on Orcas Island

Suzanne couldn’t resist purchasing this amazing forest house designed by famous Pacific North West designer SunRay Kelley. For eight years, she lived by herself on this ferry-access-only island, enjoying her deep Japanese-style soaking tub and sleeping in the tower bedroom.

Now she rents out the gorgeous spot on Airbnb — and it is almost always booked solid! You can see why in the video below. The arched windows, skylight bubbles, and amazing craftsmanship make this a truly magical spot. And the location doesn’t hurt either!

There’s a deep Japanese-style soaking tub in this pod. Every door is handmade.

Up in the tower sits this cozy twin bed surrounded by forest views.

I have no idea how to comment on this home. It’s so unique, charming, and lovely. It’s the home every one dreams of when they are small, and many of us never quit dreaming of it. I love this place!

Wonderful, out of a fairy tale. What a great vacation spot or family get away. Escape from the big city.

Orcas Island is an incredible and beautiful place. Lots of tech millionaires and billionaires have bought or built homes there. And Oprah bough a house as an investment. You don’t have to take the ferry; there is a small airport, and if you don’t have your own plane there is a small, local airline that will take you from Seattle to Orcas.
