Built entirely by students in the Geometry in Construction program at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, TX. Be a part of supporting our program!

Construction Summary
The cabin is 10′ wide and 18′ long
Floor system: Treated pine timbers 4″ x 6″
Joists: Treated pine 2″ x 6″ fastened to the timbers with Simpson angle brackets.
Insulation : R-19 batt insulation supported by Tyvek building wrap
Floor ¾” Exterior Grade plywood
Walls 2 x 4 studs 16″ on center, every stud is fastened to joists with Simpson fasteners
Rafters 2 x 6 rafters 16″ on center, every rafter is fastened to the walls with Simpson fasteners
Siding 4′ x 8′ — 7/16″ “Smart Siding”, Tyvek house wrap under all siding
Trim 1 x 4, 1 x 6, 2 x 6 and 2 x 8 “Combed” wood
Decking 7/16″ foil faced OSB wih Tyvek building wrap underlayment
Roof Commercial grade galvalume standing seam metal roof
Wiring 125 Amp service panel, all 12 gauge wire and 20 amp devices
Ceiling fan in great room, LED lights elsewhere, 2 exterior floodlights
Plumbing PVC drain waste and vent piping
PEX piping for both the hot and cold water
Rheem tankless water heater
Toilet, 32″ acrylic shower surround, porcelain sink in bathroom
Cooktop Two burner match light propane cooktop
AC 7500 BTU AC and heater window unit
Flooring “Tigerstripe” bamboo
Windows All are tempered glass single hung vinyl
Interior Trim 1 x 6 tongue and groove knotty pine above wainscot with clear sealer

    WTG!!! Wow, this is such a lovely house, you guys nailed it! ? I wish you were here in Canada, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this.

    I think I’d have liked geometry a lot better if we’d gotten to build a tiny house! 😀

    Love the floors. The fit and finish isn’t quite to professional quality, but it sounds from the description like they were very thorough and did things right. Kudos!
