Spartacus 1955 Spartan Royal Mansion by Backyard Bunkies

This is Spartacus, a 1955 Spartan Royal Mansion by Backyard Bunkies.

It’s a 34-foot long vintage camper with two entrances, all new custom cabinetry, designer furniture, mini-split air conditioning, subway tiled bathroom, and more. It’s technically a park model designed to be set up with full hookups (it has no holding tanks). What do you think?

Sparty the BEAUTIFUL 1955 Spartan Royal Mansion Renovation by Backyard Bunkies

I love it when a classic 1950’s trailer is repurposed into something new (but with retro style).

And even with the furniture (it also has the retro style), that’s what they did here, isn’t it?

These coffee tables add a nice touch with the natural wood.

No design is complete without stylish lighting.

The light teal colored cabinets look great in my opinion.

Nice how there is space for a desk and a dining table.

Ceramic sinks are beautiful!

The copper accents are nice.

Meow 🙂

Open shelving must be kept neat!

Did you notice the copper sink? Pretty cool how they were able to match that with the dining table legs, too, right?

Welcome to Spartacus!

As a child, I’ve always appreciated tables like this, with visible literature and photos under the glass.

In this case, we have postcards from various national parks.

The mini-split air conditioning system right over the wall-mounted television.

The pantry slide-out drawers.

Did you notice the custom wood knobs?

Do you like owls?

I love the sink that they picked in the bathroom.

Standard flush toilet. And more owls.

The bathroom with subway tile design.

And finally, the main floor bedroom…

Lighting like this always adds a nice touch.

    I am Spartacus.
I see a lot of 50’s Moderne in that first picture.
I think the only thing that kitchen is missing is a telephone hanging on the wall. 😉
Someone has a very keen sense of style, though and it screams throughout this whole unit.
From the tile bathroom, to the weak sky blue pastel that dominates the kitchen, to the little splashes of modern technology that are sprinkled all over that unit. Not to so much to make it look “pasted on”, but enough to be noticed and appreciated.
This is an absolute ACE restoration of a grand old trailer and whom ever was involved with this project should be very proud of that fact.
    Amazing job, one and all.

Love the color of the paint for the cabinets. What color is that?

I always liked the old school and quality build Spartan.
This modern touch fits well and I would really like to have one but they aren’t affordable anymore except you can DIY.

Different strokes fer different folks. Personally I do NOT like polished metal. The shape of the home looks, to me, like a massively oversized can of meat.

And yes… I can see that I’m in the minority judging by previous comments.

And that folks is what makes the world go round, different likes and perspectives.

You have to put prices on every house you show, this way people make their mind quicker, other way forget what saw before.

Absolutely wonderful! could live in this in a heart beat. Everything you need to be comfortable. Lots of windows. We really need governments in North America to start accepting these types of homes in their cities and allow strata’s or simply owned lots to place them. Less

Love everything about this home. The fact that is reminds me of the classy years when I was growing up. The shower curtain, pictures and the coffee table. Should see the hippy coffee table my hubby made from driftwood he carried to his truck from the CA Coastal area. I met him in 2001 and that coffee table attacked me. 🙂 It is unique. This home is pristine. Love this home.

Really fun! Though I might change a few things like the color of the kitchen cabinets (I don’t hate it but a different color would be nicer to live with full time for me), I will say that given the attention to detail to keep with the vintage era is appreciated. Love the color of that couch but if I was going to live in this, I’d need to get a larger, more comfy one instead. I would have to insist on larger sinks though I understand why the smaller ones were chosen. I’m willing to sacrifice a little space for the convenience of ample sink space. Not everyone would like the metallic look of the exterior…we must respect everyone’s personal preferences…but for those of us who like oddball wonderfulness in our lives, this is fabulous! Nicely restored.
