I don’t understand why builders of tiny houses put a window above the sink. When the window can be placed behind the toilet. After all the toilet is placed where there is an outer wall.

Maria, it’s done for design reasons…

One reason is symmetry, keeping the appearance of the house from the exterior consistent with all the windows being placed in the same pattern on either side… which also keeps undue attention from being on the bathroom if it had the odd window out from the others…

Another reason is it places the window in view of the kitchen, which helps make that space feel more open and opposite the kitchen window for greater effect…

While a mirror there could be a issue with sunlight coming in from the kitchen window… and some people like to look at nature while they’re brushing their teeth…

Though, you could always add a little barn door style mechanism to the window so you can have a mirror/cabinet slide over and cover it when using the sink, which can help provide some privacy if you’re near other people, like renting a spot in a RV park, etc. but still keep the outward appearance the house consistent…

I’d add a narrow shelf above the sink in the bathroom for essentials: hand soap pumper jar, lotion, tiny toothbrush holder, hairbrush. You could always put some window film on the bottom half of that window for privacy. Add a decent sized mirror on good strong hinges just off to the side of the window so you could swing it over the window if you need a mirror, otherwise the backside looks like framed art when put back to the side where the wall is.
I’d also center that heater in that corner build, add a fake chimney, and hide the tv inside that chimney (it has interior hinges so it’s actually two narrow doors), and hide the dvd player and remote inside the flip down ‘mantle’. My style would be thin fake river rock and rustic wood mantle. Imagine that as your living space focal point, especially during the holidays!
Hang a clock or artwork over the electrical panel on the kitchen wall (easily removed when access is needed), add a few shelves for the dishes, a narrow spice rack and a nice little throw rug to warm up the floor.
Oh, the possibilities……..I never thought I could live in a tiny that small but this one just might change my mind on that issue!
