It’s always an exciting day when we have a new Baluchon build to show you. This lovely tiny house was built for Claire, a client who is starting a new chapter of her life and calls her home, “The Smell of Rain” in French — that idea of fresh waters falling on formerly parched ground. Beautiful, really!
Claire wanted a very traditional tiny house, with a gable roof and standard living-kitchen-bathroom layout underneath a sleeping loft. But like always, Baluchon elevates the ordinary with beautiful craftsmanship and a pop of color — the barn red roofing and interior cabinets contrast beautifully with the light natural wood tones. This is absolutely beautiful! What length is it? I love the kitchen cabinet color and design, and the stairs stopping at the top allowing some light into the space. The windows intrigue me. Can one order those, or are they specially made? The exterior is very pretty. It’s a great home!
6 mètres, so basically 20 feet… It’s getting easier to order European windows, so you should be able to order them if you can track down a state side supplier, there’s at least one in Canada, or have them imported… These use mixed wood/aluminum joinery and are double glazed.
I absolutely love this! It would be a perfect fit for me and be so comfortable! How much did it cost?
I like it… bar 1 thing. The entry door opens in and will inevitably crash into the cupboards damaging them. But kudos to the French. They’ve done an excellent job, no doubt about that. Now if only I could order that in New Zealand and not pay the freight. In only…
As I have said so many times in the past, there isn’t a single Baluchon tiny house that I wouldn’t just move right in to, not a one since I started watching tiny houses in 2014. Baluchon is the BEST at using 20 feet in the most efficient and usually the best-looking way of any house builder. No offense to the others……there are some other good ones I have seen, but usually they have been longer than 20 feet. This is another one I could move into tomorrow. The best thing on the main floor in this house is the placement of the small (but not tiny) refrigerator, allowing the fully usable storage closet on the other side to be so large. i also love the storage compartment in the loft bedroom. And overall. The looks and design of the exterior is one of Baluchon’s best. Please can I have it now? : )
I used to make natural perfumes so the description at the top of the page really spoke to me. The smell of rain. I used an ingredient I purchased from India to make a few of my perfumes. It’s called mitti attar, and it is sweet and earthy… just like the colours inside this home. Thanks for these wonderful memories flooding my brain right now.
Great looking rig, all in all. And I think someone’s gotta tow one of these over the Kathy right now. 🙂
