While others may have spent their quarantines learning how to bake bread or watching endless videos on the Internet, Maddy and her sister spent their time dreaming up and building the perfect mountain tiny house!

The two designed what was Maddy’s home, which is now an Airbnb, starting with a prefab shell and then making all the right customizations to create a truly special build. It features a full-sized bathroom and a cozy raised living room. Enjoy the tour!

The tiny house has an oversized outdoor deck for easy access to the house and an easy way to live outdoors.

They kept the inside bright to give the illusion of more space.

They chose live-edge wood for the shelves, counters, and table!

And when you live tiny, outdoor living is just important as indoor living!

I would live here in a heartbeat!!! It was well thought out as well as aesthetically pleasing…love the white with live edges! The kitchen counters are sparse but having the dining/work/bar ledge would certainly help with that. The entire environment is so wonderful…Topanga is known for being a very special place and who wouldn’t want to live there, right? The indoor/outdoor living is perfect! There were two things that were not explained in the video or the written descriptions. Why did they choose to elevate the living area? I saw, of course, that the steps added storage but the large area underneath the sofa was never explained. There appears to be a door but it was not mentioned. Also, the tall “cabinet” in the bathroom next to the sink doesn’t appear to have a door so it doesn’t appear to be storage but that was never explained either. If I was going to make any changes to this truly wonderful tiny house it would be to add just a bit of length so I could add two things: A downstairs bedroom and enough space in the bathroom for separate washer and dryer. Who knows, adding extra length might make more counters possible in the kitchen! I am no spring chicken so eliminating the stairs would be a relief for my well-used knees, and those washer/dryer combo machines take forever to do a load of laundry…I’ve had one and it was frustrating. I suppose speed isn’t all that important in an environment that promotes so much serenity and would seem contradictory but I would rather not spend more time than absolutely necessary doing what little laundry you would have. The “feel” of this tiny is truly wonderful! The materials used fit my style perfectly! Any changes are absolutely based on my own personal needs and not a criticism! I love my house with its great view and restful environment but this little THOW could seduce me to move!
