    I like wooden yurts. NC can be absolutely gorgeous. Sylva is along the Blue Ridge Parkway which is glorious when the leaves are turning. However, unless you are retiring or are a recluse, there’s nothing in Sylva………

    I am such a fan of these style homes. There happen to be several of them in NC. There’s one in the Hyland Golf community in Southern Pines, one near a lake in Cameron and a whole neighborhood off 5000 Surf Scooter Dr in Fayetteville just up from Methodist University, also a neighborhood in Cary, the difference with these is that they are all built atop a small basement structure or have a small room below and the main house above. I always call them Mushroom Houses.
