  It is so interesting to see people making these older trailers look new! I’d love to do this, but right now it’s so expensive to buy even a dilapidated trailer. Some day!

    Just remember that if it’s not been winterized, or insulated, it’s going to freeze in the winter. It’s still a 5th wheel, it’s not a THOW. I was going to have my 26′ travel trailer renovated, which would include redoing the whole framework. Then it would be a thow. I didn’t mind living in it, but was freezing cold in the winter and hot in the summer when the a/c wasn’t on. As it turned out, I found a small house in the country to live in and sold the trailer to a young couple who said the planned on turning it into a thow. : )

      But… it’s got wheels. So it’s a tiny house on wheels. Even if it is a fifth wheeler.

        No, wheels doesn’t change that there are real differences in how they are built and function that go beyond simple appearance.

        You could call it a Tiny Home, as anything can be called a home, but you can only call something actually built like a house, a house… Tiny, on wheels, or otherwise… RV’s are not built like houses!

  Very pretty! A beautiful renovation! I like the pocket door and the color scheme. the bathroom is lovely and has a great floor plan. The kitchen is wonderful and makes me wish I was a better cook. Lol! It’s just beautiful!

  I get really frustrated at people like James D. My wife and I have been living in a 5th wheel for almost 5 years. I bought my first house at 19 and we have lived in many houses and so called “luxury” apartments. We gave up living in bricks and sticks for many reasons, but houses can crumble just like apartments or 5th wheels. His argument is mute. We have our own land just like a regular house. We searched far and wide for secluded, no restrictions land and found it. We live very comfortably just like in a house, just me and my wife on over 2.5 acres in a forest with 0 restrictions. We have a septic tank and deep well with very good water flowing at 20+ gpm. It can be done. Our used 5th wheel cost 15k and we have another 30k in land, septic, electricity and water. All paid for in cash. Don’t listen to naysayers like James D. It can be done, you just have to be willing to give up your pre-concieved notions of what another life might be like.

    Sorry but you’re misconstruing what I stated. I never suggested anything couldn’t be done, I was only pointing out a fact, which for many people is something they either have to consider or deal with, just like Ann pointed out with her experience!

    Since, not everyone is going to be living somewhere that those differences won’t matter. It doesn’t mean it can’t be done, only that there may be issues that may need to be resolved first to make it work or do so in the way someone wants it to…

    Understand, people are diverse and can have different needs and be in different situations. So solutions that can be adapted or modified to meet the needs of the specific individual and fit their specific situation are what’s going to help the most people…

    I actually advocate for people to think outside the box, not limit themselves to just traditional solutions, and am open to a wide range of ways people can choose to live. Adaptability and problem solving, especially, can be a way to make just about anything work if we put enough time and energy into it, but you can’t do that by ignoring the details and not bothering to figure out how to make it actually work…
