Red Barn to Tiny Cottage Conversion You Can Vacation In

I always admire conversions like this barn to tiny cottage renovation.

I like them because they make great use of a structure that already exists.

In this case, what used to be a barn is now a beautiful little red cottage.

The best part is, it’s also available as a vacation rental (PS – have you checked out our new tiny house vacations section?) so you can stay in it if you want.

It’s a bed and breakfast in Portland, Oregon.

The bedroom loft also doubles as a living room, as you can see:

From the looks of it, it seems like part of it is still used as a shed for storage although I’m not 100% sure on that.

Outside Firepit

I don’t have any dimensions available but it seems like it’s definitely around 300 sq. ft. of interior space or likely even less. Very, very small!

According to the listing, it’s been insulated with R30, new windows were added, and it’s in a neighborhood in Portland called South Tabor.

Well done! I’d definitely stay there since it’s a B&B. Not sure I’d wanna live in it full-time though. I personally want about 500 sq ft in my tiny house.

    Hey Alex

Don’t think it has storage. Remember this “was” a barn. Barn doors have been left in place, probably to keep the characterness of the original barn, and it is probably walled off on the inside.

I want one, I want one, I want one. I’m a senior widow on fixed income with 2 small dogs. It is EVERYTHING we need.
A couple things I would like would be a small combo washer/dryer & a tiny dishwasher. Maybe there is room for some trade off’s.
Absolutely fantastic! Let me know when you’re ready to part with this one!
