POD House: Unique Tiny Living Experiences

This post contains affiliate links.

I want to introduce you to POD House. Based in Switzerland they build and design these cool round shaped cabins. Used mostly for camp sites, unique living experiences and hotel extensions.

Or if you are looking to put one on your property as a place to get away they can do that too.

But are they big enough to call home? Or maybe just to be used for glamping, backyard offices, vacation spots?

As POD House says, “Step in and feel good.”

You make the call. Check out some of their four different models below.

“But are they big enough to call home?”

    Too funny! Bwhahahahaaaaaaa. 😀

Camping, yes. Emergency Shelter, yes. FEMA, yes. Homeless, yes.

No bathroom toilet? No shower? No kitchen? No running water? No cooking inside, away from the elements?

    Home? Nope.

100% concur. I wouldn’t even consider this at a campground. No toilet? Oh my…. what were (or weren’t) they thinking.

Thanks for the thought, but I live waaaaay outside of the Americas so don’t do that at all. But, in all fairness I probably more than make up for it at Christmas… way more than make up for it. All the while enjoying Christmas during summer.

So basically, a solid-walled tent. A very nice looking tent, but a tent (or the functional equivalent) nonetheless.

This is lovely. It reminds me very much of similar caternary arch designs, done in SuperAdobe, that are amazingly efficient, both for space and energy. If you’re interested, you can see the various designs that have been worked up (from an Eco-Dome tiny house to a 4BR, 2BA) at http://www.calearth.org We drove up the coast to check them out & they are astonishing.
