Parents’ & Toddler’s Gorgeous Skoolie w/ Custom Crib Art

Colin and Ashley owned several vans and box trucks, but never finished building them out. Eventually, they landed on this 1999 Bluebird and after 2.5 years of renovations, were ready to move in with their son Zephyr. The beautiful bus has so much attention to detail!

They have a large sink for bathing their toddler, a DIY composting toilet, and a shower room with a roof raise. But one of the most special features is the crib wall! Instead of typical “bars,” the couple created a custom piece of woodwork to keep their son safe. What do you think?

Do you realize how many people will skip watching a video that’s drawn out to 24 minutes? It means that there is way too much talking. What do you have to say that is that important? We want to see what you built, not listen to incessant rambling.

Liz, very harsh. Skip through and very thought design and it looks great.

      Liz!
      Agreed!
Let the ‘harsh’ out, bust some mellows!
I have zero-zero-zero patience with blathering tours:
      * “… and this is our utensils drawer where we keep all our utensils when we are done using our utensils…”.
      .
Anytime I see the time-stamp indicating a video longer than six minutes, I switch to 1.25x ‘playback’.
Over ten minutes, I go to 1.5x ‘playback’ while skipping ahead several times.
A twenty-four minute video requires nearly an hour with commercials.
      I believe that is abusive.
      .
And some hostesses (bless her heart) need over a minute of bandwidth for a chatty introduction, then remind everybody to ‘love and cherish our precious content!’.
Just shoot me, dump the corpse in with the hogs.
      .
However, this crew crafted a magnificent rig.
I had my finger poised to skip ahead, I had my finger poised to hit 2x ‘playback’ with multiple skip-aheads…
…then I saw the stone entry.
      “Hmmm…” thinks I.
      .
And with such knowledgeable — and pleasant — spokes-models, the tour flew by.
      I may watch a second time…
…at .75x ‘playback’ with the audio off just to absorb the little touches.
      .
This could be the primo conversion.
      I am impressed.

Great bus/home! And you guys are so precious…and smart! Very well-designed bus/home, well thought-out and beautifully constructed. Thanks so much for sharing it.

What a delightful couple — and what a lovely space they have created — very inventive too, — even tho they will eventually turn it into a rental — still a great experience for them for now as they have created a very in creative tiny bus home!!

Oh, I thought their script was pretty darn concise and to the point. What a wonderful and lovely bus! It’s colors and decorating are so pretty, and the design flows well. Clever ideas on space and use, too. Love the bookshelf up front and the bedroom. The baby’s crib is very clever. I love this bus!
