This is a traveling bookstore tiny house in France. It’s called “”La Librairie Itinérante” or, roughly translated into English, The Traveling (Tiny) Bookstore. Besides being beautiful and clever, I love that the bookstore also includes a bathroom, office and loft bedroom for the owner. Isn’t that great? Enjoy the pictures and get more details below! It was built by Pauline and Roman of La Maison Qui Chemine, a tiny house company in France:
“We are a young couple (24-27 years old) who have decided to build Tiny Houses for one year now. We’ve just made our first Tiny house for a bookseller: “La librairie itinérante.” He and his Tiny House are now moving from place to place, mostly villages without books or forsaken by shops, to sell used books at middle price, and to tell stories in the evening, free of charge, in the Tiny House. You just have to bring your slippers!”

The little home includes a front porch, loft bedroom with tons of light, and a sweet tiny kitchen with sink, burners and tons of counter space. This particular one is all wood dotted with punches of color — like a neon yellow toilet seat! Might as well have fun with it!
The builder sells homes in different states of “finished” — from just shells to turn key — and this is just one of their models.

It’s about 19.5 ft. long and features two lofts, one of which is accessible by some cool floating bookshelf stairs. The best part of this home might be the giant wall of windows that lets in tons of natural light.
They have built fifteen homes so far. One features a special shape – almost reminiscent of Noah’s ark, with curved roof lines and wooden clapboards. Another looks like a typical gable roof cabin with a bright turquoise door. One of their other tiny house builds features pine siding and a metal roof with dormers for the loft space. And yet another reminds you of the prairie wagons of the wild West, with a curved canopy-style roof.

Outside, you’ll notice a fun geometric look because of a mixture of vertical and horizontal wooden siding. Off the front of the home is a small covered patio area.
When you go inside, you’ll find beautiful pine walls and floors. In the kitchen, there’s a metal countertop with two stove top burners and a stainless steel sink. The loft area is completely paneled in pine and has wooden shelving units to separate it from the main living area. You can get the full tour by watching the video below.
