This Tiny House Tour in France is a guest post by Chris Wenban of Tiny Footprint

On my last tiny tour (https://tinyhousetalk.com/tiny-house-tour-in-france/) I was disappointed to have missed out on a couple of tiny stops, luckily I had the chance to make another visit back to Paris so here we have Tiny House Tour France Part Deux!

Barrel Tiny House, La Brosse

I set off in my tiny red Fiat 500 to find the Roulotte (Caravan) in La Brosse, a tiny hamlet near the ancient village of Janvry, south-east of Paris. There are 3 ‘Barrel’ houses in the grounds of the Domaine de Marguerite and this idyllic place is certainly an alternative to the hustle and bustle of central Paris if you want something a little different. I had seen this tiny house in tinyhousetalk.com previously so thanks to Alex for the tip!

This Tiny House Tour in France is a guest post by Chris Wenban of Tiny Footprint

While spending time with family in Europe I was fortunate to find myself with a week to spare. I have a good friend in Paris and decided to be multi-functional (as all good tiny obsessives are) and arrange a tiny house tour in France, culminating in a tiny themed weekend in Paris.

Via the wonders of google I managed to find 2 tiny houses to stay in relatively close to each other to the west of Paris near Nantes, this also happens to be the home region of Baluchon who have been one of the key ground-breakers and tiny house builders in the movement in France. With a tiny hire car, a Renault Twizy, I left Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and headed west toward Bretagne (Brittany) and the Loire Valley, not to find castles, but to find tiny houses.

This is a traveling bookstore tiny house in France. It’s called “”La Librairie Itinérante” or, roughly translated into English, The Traveling (Tiny) Bookstore. Besides being beautiful and clever, I love that the bookstore also includes a bathroom, office and loft bedroom for the owner. Isn’t that great? Enjoy the pictures and get more details below! It was built by Pauline and Roman of La Maison Qui Chemine, a tiny house company in France:

“We are a young couple (24-27 years old) who have decided to build Tiny Houses for one year now. We’ve just made our first Tiny house for a bookseller: “La librairie itinérante.” He and his Tiny House are now moving from place to place, mostly villages without books or forsaken by shops, to sell used books at middle price, and to tell stories in the evening, free of charge, in the Tiny House. You just have to bring your slippers!”

This is the 17-foot-long Granville tiny house by La Tiny House, a builder in France.

The little home includes a front porch, loft bedroom with tons of light, and a sweet tiny kitchen with sink, burners and tons of counter space. This particular one is all wood dotted with punches of color — like a neon yellow toilet seat! Might as well have fun with it!

The builder sells homes in different states of “finished” — from just shells to turn key — and this is just one of their models.

This is the Christine Model by La Tiny House in France.

It’s about 19.5 ft. long and features two lofts, one of which is accessible by some cool floating bookshelf stairs. The best part of this home might be the giant wall of windows that lets in tons of natural light.

You can check out details on models and pricing at the La Tiny House website.
