Anne-So and JP met in university and later started dating. It was their New Zealand road-tripping in a rental van that made them fall in love with vanlife, but JP wasn’t quite sold on selling all their stuff, quitting their jobs, and moving into a van full-time — at first!

Thankfully, he came around, and the couple had the amazing opportunity to travel from Canada to Panama — and back — in their Promaster. Now they are taking the van around the United States and seeing all the U.S. had to offer. What do you think of their van?

Daniel was looking for a vehicle to take with him on outdoor travels during the weekends — something he could toss muddy gear into and not care about. A late-night eBay bid made him the owner of this 2005 Econoline bus — and after a cross-country trip to retrieve it, he suddenly found himself caring a lot more about his build-out!

He used many reclaimed materials to create a fully functional home on wheels, including a soon-to-be-completed bathroom, a Murphy bed, and an ample kitchen/counter space. Enjoy the video tour below!

Kati had dreamt about vanlife for nearly a decade, but about 3 years ago she made it her goal to transition into a van — and then she made it happen!

The result is a really cool ProMaster with a folding safety wall that blocks off the cab when needed, but opens up otherwise. She kept the exterior pretty stealth, but did add a fan and window. Oh! And there’s a hidden toilet in there. Pretty cool.

Elliot’s van is honestly a marvel of van engineering! Not only did he do everything “differently” than the norm, he did it well. You’ll find a queen-sized Murphy bed, 8 feet of counter space, no garage, and one powerful power system made possible by Tesla batteries.

He lived in the van from the summer of 2020 until recently and has put the van up for sale (asking $110K). Update: now sold. Follow him on Instagram to see what he’s up to next!

Jim is a professional carpenter who is taking his skills to the road in his DIY cargo trailer camper he now calls home. After selling his big house of 25 years, Jim spent two months working and living in his cargo trailer, making it into a stealthy rig with room for all of his wood-working tools!

He used five different types of wood in the build, including some veneer he’d been saving for the right project for about 15 years. During the past year, he’s kept asking himself why on earth he didn’t make the move to nomadic, tiny living sooner! Check out the Tiny Home Tours interview below.

Vaughn, like so many others, was ready to stop wasting money on LA rent month after month. He took the plunge and bought a box truck which he has made into a fantastic home — and he dreams of someday building his own shipping container house.

Inside his big green machine you’ll find a spacious shower with a dry flush toilet, and what he considers the quickest bed set-up in a vehicle ever — his Murphy bed which flips down in under 3 seconds.

Vaughn says he wants to be an inspiration to other men of color that they, too, can enjoy the travel/van/truck lifestyle. Enjoy his video tour below!

Murphy beds are such an awesome way to save space in a tiny house and not need a loft bedroom! You don’t have to make a bed every day (just fold it away!) but there are no ladders or stairs needed. This Baja Surf Shack makes use of the Murphy bed, as well as a “Murphy deck” that unfolds when you arrive at your destination.

There’s also a kitchen and bathroom in the set-up, and a “flex loft” which you can use for storage (or guests) if you would like. It’s for sale over at Tiny House Marketplace for $90,000.
