Overcoming VanLife Struggles and Regrets: Rania & Sequoia

This post contains affiliate links.

While we see a lot of positive things about vanlife here at Tiny House Talk, it was refreshing to hear some raw truth from vanlifer, Rania, who hit the road with her dog Sequoia in “Egg,” their Transit van conversion.

She didn’t enjoy those first weeks of vanlife. She was scared and felt like she’d made a huge mistake — being on her own and in such a small space felt claustrophobic. But her story has a happy ending. After sticking it out and learning how to make her van space work for her, she has spent a year in her van successfully!

Wait until you see her van’s sleek black interior with fun vintage pops of color. Thanks Tiny Home Tours for the interview!

Rania, I felt the very same way when I first starting sleeping in my tiny converted bus, and like you, after some changes (especially a new door), it was great. You have a very versatile, lovely space in your van. Great art work! I hope you enjoy another year in your van and meet lots of good and interesteing people.

In general, I love the interior layout of the van, but not so much some of the color choices. I’m going to have to guess that the interior was professionally done.

She designed it and chose all the materials, her friend built it with her doing some of it… She had another friend help with the curtains, etc.

Thank you for the info. I hadn’t watched the video when I initially replied.

I love her van. I also love her charismatic personality. I am usually trying to fast forward through the talking in videos but I found myself really interested in what she was saying. I don’t think she will have any problems fitting in anywhere. They will definitely love her.
