I do not get the name “Oscar Wilde”. It does not even look remotely like Oscar Wilde’s house. There is no writing desk – to imply it is for writer’s retreats – furnitures actually looks fairly uncomfortable. And he never lived in Leadville, Colorado. So I am puzzled why someone called it “Oscar Wilde”. It might just be a love of the author – but then one would expect some kind of theme, that implied the author. Strange.

Actually, Leadville, Colorado is a noted part of Oscar Wilde’s life… If you ever watch the biography movie on him, Wilde (1997), it even opens with his visit to that town…

Mind, he wasn’t just a writer but also a poet, dramatist, and a believer in aestheticism and advocate of socialism, but while he may be mostly remembered as an author he only published one novel, “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” in 1891…

During 1882, he was doing a lecture tour of America, basically explaining Art and Esthetics to the American middle class, which lasted over a year…

Leadville, Colorado was one of the tough wild west type towns at the time during the height of the silver mining period and while Wilde was initially not well received with his lectures at the local opera house, after the miners took him for a drink and they failed to get him drunk with him out drinking them under the table instead, he basically became very popular and they even named a silver vein in the mine after him before he left, with the drill he used to open the vein as a souvenir…

So there was more to him than just being a writer…

What brand is that bathtub? It looks really nice… Something I would want in my home.

Where did they hide the stove & fridge?
    Nice layout otherwise!

Well, after seeing this one I think I will call my tiny house the Jason Mamoa since he came to the big island where I live.
LOL takes all kinds. From what I just read about Oscar Wilde and knowing his Dorian Gray thing I have no interest whatsoever in the guy. Socialism, feh!
