Another wonderful offering from Tiny House Siesta.
One thing I noticed is that it seems there’s enough room in that nicely laid out kitchen to feature a proper range.
Maybe a compact Marine-type range, but a range none the less.
I do appreciate the full size refer, though.
    Otherwise, nice place!

Just maybe the customer doesn’t want a range. They have a microwave, and possibly they are principally a raw food eater. Absolutely nothing wrong with that btw. Whatever trips yer trigger. Certainly saves on the electricity costs and/or consumption.

These are primarily made for short stays, Tiny House Siesta is a Hotel…

They bought a park and created a bunch of tiny homes there as a business after experiencing a Tiny House for vacation. But hotel? I’d be more inclined to call it a motel at best. Pretty much an AirBnB clone. Which doesn’t in any way detract from its usefulness and experience I’m sure.

Oh, btw, the Sand Dollar Tiny House was built by Lakeside Tiny Homes that are located in Lindon, UT…

No, they didn’t create those homes and a motel is just short for “motorist’s hotel”, which means it just a type of hotel that is basically built around ample parking and tends to be in more remote locations… While, an AirBNB can be anything but is usually a privately owned rental property that’ll usually be hosted by the owner but a hotel is a commercial rental property that will be run as a business with staff, etc…

        So it’s a hotel…

There’s a two-burner cooktop next to the sink, so its setup for cooking.
My point is, if you’re going to afford that much room for a kitchen, it might be more appealing to have a full range, even if its a “Marine” type….but as James said, it is a rental, so that’s probably the reason.
Just seems like a waste of space to cram a little two burner in there when there’s room for more.

Look at it from the owners point of view. If there is a full range then more cleaning issues. Would also take up more space. 2 burner cooktop is easier to clean, damned cheap to buy if they get damaged… so, given it “is” a vacation rental it makes, to me anyway, eminent sense to make things easier from a maintenance point of view. And given that you can buy those types of cookers for $30 in NZ, then cheap as to replace.

It’s a vacation rental. I suspect most of us don’t wish to cook while on holiday. 😉

This is one of my absolute favorite tiny house designs! I love the more private master loft. I cannot tell if it is completely closed off or if the ceiling (the wall closes to the foot of the bed in the master loft) just comes up really high but this design definitely affords the owner more privacy, which is what I want when

It’s closed off… Access is from the bathroom with stairs that curves a bit and then comes up to the side of the bed, just in front of the dresser drawers you see next to the bed… and to the left of that is a good size closet space…

          Hi James,

Yes, I’m aware of the entrance into the loft through the bathroom access as well as the ladder at the end of the kitchen (just at the beginning of the “dining room, couch, lounge area” of the home). That access through the bathroom is what I love most about the loft; however, I would prefer there be no opening in the dining/couch room. I would ask to have one side completely closed in and the other side have a hatch type door opening in the ceiling that a ladder can be attached to but stored elsewhere permanently. I would also prefer the downstairs sleeping area to be closed in with pocket door access, if that is at all possible. The loft area would be used for storage on one side and a sleeping area on the other (for my adult children when they stay with me or future grandchildren). I would not need to have daily access to the loft so that bathroom access would work great for me since I’m getting too old to climb a ladder.

Everything is possible if you don’t mind the trade offs like not being able to easily walk around if you section everything off and needing to move room to room to get from one end of the home to the other…

Though, again, the main sleeping loft is closed off… The stairs is the only access to it… The ladder is only for the open loft by the main entrance, which has no other side as that would be outside the home and just past the front porch… It used to have a bed for sleeping but they apparently decided it’s better for storage as it’s a very small space and there was no room for railings…

Though, if you eliminated the front porch and only had the side entrance then that loft could be brought in a bit and have stair access against the wall then to allow it to be closed off like the other loft is… While, if permanently parked, you can always add a deck or porch to the other side entrance… Or have a fold down option if it still needs to travel to not lose that feature but would leave you with just one entrance instead of two…

Though, if you go wider, then the extra width could be used for a connecting hallway between the spaces and it’ll be easier to section off and still get around fairly easily… Part of the hallway can even then be used to put back an additional entrance or have a hall bench area…

Everything just depends on your priorities and what trade offs you can work with…

I’m very excited but a little bit sad toI’m so glad that tiny house is becoming more and more popular the problem is it doesn’t seem to be accessible for money-wise trying to find someone that will finance one for me or mortgage one specially on low-income seems to be hard and Detroit seems to be with a harder with their large oversized houses they don’t seem to want to have room for something like this Sally enough most people who are disabled or senior citizen have to give up their large houses to go into a Groupon or a senior citizen home I think these houses would be remarkable only if the state legislature would pass the Bill allowing them to be build on land without there being 50% on the left hand side and 50% on the right hand side of vacant property with no houses even though a lot of these houses are ran down and burnt particularlyly just no goodp I just wish I knew more about how to get one on a low income and have one built being disabled I have no use of basements or stairs but these houses seem that they would be wonderful please if anyone can help me with financing or information on how to buy one and put it on some land in Detroit Michigan please let me know thank you I love the tiny houses I even have an idea of my owner to thank you

While I do like this unit, I am not a fan of high ceilings mainly due to the fact they are super hard to heat in the winter, especially if you live in a cold climate. Southern states, would not be much of a problem, however, they are still hard to heat and if they are total elect., then your bills will be very high. Heat rises, so the bedrooms would be extremely hot while the main floor area would be cool to very cold.

Depends, it’s generally not a big issue with tiny houses with the small total volume and how most are being well insulated with some even meeting passive house standards. But could be a issue for a poorly insulated home or one of the much larger tiny houses.

While it can also depend on how you heat the home… Radiant heat will heat objects and not just the air. So options like radiant heat floors can still be very efficient, making you feel warmer than the ambient air and making it easier to not feel as much of a difference if transitioning to a loft at night and the normally warmer air above…

Breaking up the space into rooms, such as for the bathroom, loft, etc. further reduce the volume of the space with the high ceiling and consequently makes it easier to heat… and you can heat the much smaller room spaces with low cost space heaters…

Some may also opt for options like solar thermal to supplement their heating needs and other methods that can all but eliminate heating costs…
