210 Sq. Ft. One-Level Modern Tiny House

I’m so excited to feature this video tour of Brian Levy’s 210 sq. ft. one-level modern tiny house on wheels at Boneyard Studios thanks to Derek Diedricksen of RelaxShacks.com.

Brian designed his own tiny home because there was no set of plans out there that really met his needs.

So he ended up with a design that perfectly suits his needs. It has a big kitchen, downstairs bed, and all the amenities of home. And he built it using SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels).

    Good house design!

10×20 is a good size that you can do a lot with. I was not aware the Dickinson heaters do not have a thermostat? I use a propane wall heater and it has a thermostat. 1kw system should be able to handle all the needs but probably needs a larger battery storage bank.

Lovely house, good floor plan, lots of natural light, nice bathroom away from the kitchen and with its own basin. (I’m not a fan of off-kitchen bathrooms and people combing hair and brushing teeth at the kitchen sink.) Good kitchen area. Love the keyboard storage. In all, a perfect house for one person. Clever!

Very nice design and pretty well thought.
Marine grade stuff isn’t cheap but quality is much higher and they are designed for tiny spaces and low energy consumption.
I am not a fan of a wet bath because of the daily mess which needs to be cleaned up and the stainless steel wall panels on top of it.
The working desk area would benefit from an additional window and the kitchen window should not go down to kitchen counter to avoid daily cleaning.
For moving needs it would be easier to narrow it to 8′ and add roll or slide out to shorten the cramped feeling in the main room.
But as stated in the beginning a great design.

This is the best TH I’ve ever seen. Way too go!!

And closest to what my way of doing thing from A/C from solar, stressed skin/SIP’s, lightweight, lower height, no PITA loft , great storage, hiding bed also used for seating, great insulation.

And boat equipment from the Dickerson and cooking stove to the sink pedals, table set up, fridge, etc. I can tell he is a boat person as so much of the parts, design come from them.

And his solar size at almost 1kw with such good insulation make cooling doable at very low cost. The other loads likely could be handled with 250 watt panel of PV.

His entertainment/video system is the low cost, energy way eliminating the flat panel to just a screen movie style!! The projectors are getting rather cheap. and of course you can do the web on it too.

And he’s right there isn’t anything available that is as good as this. Why can’t others do what this.

And why many should, like him, just design your own.

Really nice. But I don’t understand the bathroom. Why not put the SHOWER at the back instead of the toilet? Is there a reason for the shower to be in front of the toilet?

I actually like the idea of the peace and quiet you must have living next to a cemetery, but I’ll admit that I’d be a bit spooked at night, at least for a few nights before I got used to it.

Finally someone makes a practical bed set up. The only other one I’ve seen is the French apt. where the bed pulls from under the kitchen. Very nice! I would want my bed like that & I don’t even drink.

This is the best design I have seen. I thought I was finished with my design, but will double its livability it with these wonderful ideas. Especially the bed, piano/desk, Stove, micro/convection, and mason jar storage (I already use them for everything). Kudos for such a livable home. The moveable table is great.

I love it – the bed is fantastic – a tiny house where you have the option not to climb into a loft – not safe for some people. Did it cost a lot to build?

We built somewhat of a ‘tiny house’ ~300 sq ft in the back of our property, it’s basically a guest room, but dh put directv on it and spends alot of time there watching sports and drinking. got the plan online, my bol is a contractor and helped with our build and built a couple more of the same floor plan http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSD7516

A tour of Brians Minim house was to be a highlight of the upcoming Tiny House design workshop next weekend in DC. People(like me) paid $300 for the weekend, took time off work , I will be driving 16 hours roundtrip, hotel costs…and you pull out just 10 before the workshop and will not be allowing the attendees to tour the house as advertised. Brian, a person of character keeps his commitments. We will be there next Saturday touring Lee and Jays tiny houses as part of the workshop . I hope that you have a change of heart and allow those of us who already paid you, to admire the interior of the house as we were promised.

I have seen hundreds of tiny house designs, but this takes top place for me. No loft, great kitchen and sleeping arrangements, outstanding tv idea…I could on and on. Great work!
