Lacks closet space , no place to hang clothes , and store things..

Not sure where you’d even put more storage, though. Gotta keep in mind at this size you can only fit so much 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

That’s just it. It is nice to look at and well done up.. but to live in something like this (I think) wouldn’t be very practical at all for most people. got to have somewhere to put clothes you’re not wearing and store food , dishes , pots and pans. as well as brooms dustpans and mops.

There is a closest behind the front door, full length and also a loft over the bathroom. I hear what you are saying though. For a young person it may work out.

I LOVE this one! It’s my fave! Nice to see a separate bathroom (needs a curtain for the large window). Also love the full kitchen. Not a fan of pull-out beds but with the room alotted, it’s the only choice (unless you could somehow configure a Murphy bed, but, again, space is limited. I just love love love your windows!

I love this guy, he cracks me up. He’s so cute. I do like this house. He does wonders with windows, love the one in the kitchen. There seems to be a really long window in the bathroom and I would worry about privacy, guess you would have to hang a curtain there.

Haha he is very entertaining to watch 🙂 And yes, curtain is a must 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

Although the layout is okay, I think many details aren’t very practical when in use.
Kitchen doesn’t offer much space, L-shape would be better. Fridge is too small and sink to low. The round window is nice to look on but I would put a long window and cup boards above.
Sofa/bed is to low for comfortable sitting and seems to be very soft like the early water/air beds.
No place for dining, no wardrobe, lack of storage space.
Bathroom lacks a sink, soaking tub may be nice to look at but taking a shower water is going behind and rot is starting and as Sarah and Louise said the biggest window in the bathroom…
In short, nice to look on but impractical to use.

I think much of those “design flaws” are simply because you can’t fit everything you just mentioned into a vardo of this size. He was trying to meet a need with having a downstairs bedroom in a very compact space, which forced the kitchen orientation. And the window is his signature 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

As this is a custom, hand-made build, I don’t believe Zyl sells the plans to it. — Tiny House Talk Team

While I always enjoy the artistry & craftsmanship of this builder, this is my least favorite of any of his builds I have seen to date. I echo all of Michaels’ sentiments above, very impractical for day to day living. The arch of the walls starts too low to the floor & intrudes on the interior space & seems claustrophobic to me. I wonder if a liquid was spilled on the kitchen floor, would it migrate to the bed?–From a purely aesthetical viewpoint, very nice! I liked the design of the entry steps as well.

Well there is no denying it, he is a very skilled craftsman….! Although his designs are sometimes out there, they are far from some of the nightmares I have seen, that people try to push off as works of art with insane price tags…! His vardos are actually livable….! And this one being no exception…! Well maybe one exception the lights at the door way need to be moved up, and made so that they are removable when in transit….!

Hello, I was looking at a tiny house designed by Zyl Vardos that had the sleeping area on the first floor. Isn’t there a web site to find examples of tiny houses with first floor sleeping areas for those that prefer not to climb stairs to sleep in the lofts. I have seen it before, but am unable to remember the exact site. Please could you send that to me? Thank you, Jean Copley.

Ha ha, in most of the world that I have been to the 1st floor ala US centric nations is called the ground floor and the second floor the first floor and so on. Lift (elevator) companies HATE with a passion having to replace the floor panels to comply.
