Nat & Tom’s THOW with Epic Shoe Collection!

Going tiny means you have to sacrifice *some* things, but Nat and Tom are a perfect example of making room for the things you really love! Despite living in under 300 square feet, they made space for their extensive shoe collection, using them as decor in their living area.

The couple live at Tiny House Block, a THOW community with long and short-term rentals in California. They didn’t really want to live in an apartment anymore, and a tiny home gave them more privacy and more room to creatively express themselves in their decor.

I’m so impressed about how they personalised their tiny home to fit their personalities and life style.
They seem to have thought of everything they need and it all seems so cozy and nice. Their backyard space is fantastic as well. While they seem to wish for an oven — I would recommend getting (if they have the proper electrical), a small, compact “Smart Oven”. I have used these from Breville for many years and they are just fantastic — They could probably be fine with a standard sized option but more likely a compact version. These new small ovens have given me the option of never using the full-size oven in my traditional stove. Otherwise, very great option for these two — and so much better than an apartment!!!

Not sure I would have all those shoes in the living area. Could make for some “delicious” odour 👍🤣

The shoe racks are a serious waste of space in a TH. They should be on the wall beside or behind the couch.
For real massive storage put a 2′ wide loft just above window height down both long walls.
I feel sorry for the one/s that has to sleep in that loft with little headroom.

Well, they’re shoe collectors, it’s like art to them and what they care about, which like many collectors they put their collection where they wanted it to be on display and in their field of view because they actually want to look at them and not just store them…

While there are always trade offs, being 6′ 2″ limits how low the loft can be and still provide him enough walking height below it but she can sit up in the loft and it’s pretty much set up for her, and he can easily move through the home and even the shower head is at a proper height for him…

So there’s nothing to feel sorry for if these are the trade offs they chose, they just prioritized what they care about and as long as they get what they want out of it then it’s worth it to them and they can always set up the living room as a bedroom if that ever changes… or, like the Bushes, they can eventually switch to a small home with how much they are saving with tiny living…
