I think you’re going to love the layout of the Lindstrom model from Movable Roots: Not only does it include a downstairs bedroom, this one has a Murphy bed that doubles as a table during the daytime! Hide-away beds aren’t utilized enough in tiny home building, but they really help maximize space.

The home also has a galley kitchen, secondary loft over the full bathroom, and room for a *real* comfortable couch. Sliding barn doors close the bedroom off from the rest of the 28-foot house, and it has tall cabinets perfect for hanging storage.

This model starts at $94,999, and you can contact Movable Roots here for more details.

maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think I would want to recline my feet into the kitchen sink…

@Marcia – You wouldn’t be able to unless you were about 8 to 9 feet tall… Otherwise, the only issue is no one can walk by while someone is reclining…

That big ugly recliner needs to go. It does not fit the room and is bad taste – seriously, it is something for a an typical bad taste man cave.

And it might be a good idea to get a combination washer/dryer instead of that bulgy tower. It will only take up half the space and leave room for shelves over the machine.

I am a man and I think that they are ugly and bulky! And why in the world would you put them in the kitchen??
      Nope thanks

I honestly do not understand why you would put such a washing “tower” in a tiny house. It is really waste of space.

I will say I had a combo washer/dryer unit in a flat in Scotland. It never dried the clothes and drove me batty haha. I’m sure there are better models out there, but I’d probably sacrifice the space in a tiny to be able to dry clothes properly.

I’ve had a washer/dryer combo like that and they do not take up lots of room. I would much prefer this to those big combo things.

@D. Pedersen – The recliner is called a loveseat and it’s actually a popular piece of furniture and can have many built in features like massager, heating, etc.

While there are trade offs to a combo washer/dryer that not everyone cares for and thus they will choose the tower or separate washer and dryer even if it means losing some space because they care more about functionality and what’s practical for their needs.

It’s all custom, though, so you’re free to choose completely different furniture and appliances… This builder does nearly everything custom, even fabricating their own trailers… You’re pretty much missing the point with custom built products if you waste time criticizing other people’s choices and besides they can just say the same about your choices… No one style works for everyone!

I’m with D. Pedersen on that what you are calling love seat. Totally out of character for this home.
Yikes why would you show that in a house you want to sell? Kringe – sorry.
Put in something sleek for the photo shoot. This home is obviously not lived in yet.

@Robyn – That’s fine, personal preferences is personal preference. Just because something is wildly popular by the masses, they’re in millions of homes and RV’s, doesn’t mean you have to like it too.

Besides, it sold, they’re just a custom builder and this is one of the models they can build for a client, with whatever changes the next client wants…

My least favorite tiny house out of thousands, especially at that price. By the time you put a decent mattress in the loft, your nose will be touching the ceiling and never mind sitting up in bed to read a book. Also, I don’t consider a loveseat in the kitchen to be a living area. I wouldn’t want to live in this at any price.

@Suzanne – It has a bedroom, you don’t need to sleep in the loft or even use it… While they’re a custom builder, so just about everything can be changed or even completely changed if there’s nothing about it you like… That’s what you would be actually paying for, the ability to have it exactly how you prefer it to the last detail… Not taking it as it is, which is just how someone else preferred it…

That’s not what we’d call a love seat in New Zealand… this is what we’d call a love seat.

    and yes YMMV…

Too many lines—the white boards running the long way on the ceiling, and horizontally on the walls—makes me dizzy. I need a window over or very near my kitchen sink. This is not the house for me, but I do think their Murphy bed room has the potential to be a good way to use space.

Yes I think the Murphy bed is the best feature of this home.
