as a senior I see a few drawbacks however the overall design is nice – like the many windows and exterior design but lofts without any storage or railings aren’t practical and lights that protrude from the walls seem impractical if not dangerous! The base triple wheel trailer is a plus.

Good grief… what is impractical or dangerous about light fittings that protrude from a wall?

And remember, this is essentially a show model anyway. They can be fitted out however you want. All you need is 1) the vision and 2) the dosh.

@Linda Baker-I too thought it was a bit impractical for seniors or people wanting an age-in-place living space. I did think the fixtures did stick out a bit too far, especially in the loft. I wondered about the need for fullsize washer/dryer. It would have made more sense for a stackable unit. The appliances looked to be fullsize as well-maybe could have saved space with something smaller. I liked the color scheme. I liked that they used the Goose Neck-too many builder are not doing that.

Great use of space With the Spanish theme carried inside showing exposed beams and Adobe plaster style walls. I would like to see more color on the walls but a very easy fix with furniture and accessories. A TON of countertop without shelves or cabinet uppers which is fine for a view property of traveling. Be nice to have a price as shown. This builder offering shells at a reasonable rate in pretty unique most builders are not as willing. Ordering a home with a better layout for seniors should be easy with this kind of quality. Tile work in Bath is stunning. I would love this exposed beam ceiling look in one of my Park Model designs as that bath area ceiling in a master with the French doors to a balcony would really sing. A LOT of big windows that could be adjusted for efficiency in cold climates but then this is a traveling show and you don’t have to stay in the cold right?

My mouth literally dropped when I saw that bathroom! I don’t know if it’s possible to fall in love with a bathroom but I may just be the first human to do so!! This bathroom is STUNNING!! I also love the stairs, the choice of knobs used on the cabinets, and the overall look of the whole house!! The only thing I would change is the bedroom loft- I am admit about having bedroom lofts that are totally closed in for privacy. I realize I’m definitely in the minority on this thought but I’ve seen a few THOW’s with private bedroom lofts so I know it’s possible. If a closed private loft were possible in this tiny house design, then this would be the one for me!!

Yeah I know what you mean. The man who invented autocorrect should burn in hello. 😁

Definitely possible, they’re a custom builder… Just a question of cost as closing off a space involves dealing with things like air flow, HVAC, proper venting, additional materials, whether or not you also want to add sound damping, etc.

more and more “tiny” houses have huge kitchens and no upper storage. every bit off space needs to be used.

      January 28, 2020, 11:17 pm

Well, keep in mind need is relative… Not everyone will agree what will be a good use of space… Besides, a blank slate doesn’t mean the space won’t be used, it just may be something done after someone moves into it or it may be something people have to choose as this is a custom builder…

Not every bit of space needs to be used. some people don’t like “stuff” so there isn’t a need for room to put things they don’t have. If I had to make a choice between hanging art and cabinets for stuff, I’d want wall space for art. If a view was where I placed the home, I wouldn’t want cabinets, I’d want windows to frame the view-art. What is wonderful about tiny/small homes is every one can be built for the owner and have what they want/or need.
This model has a fabulous fridge and I’d want it. However, not being keen on cooking, I wouldn’t want a large kitchen. For others is mandatory. With a these types of homes, every one can order what they want. Some people like large sinks, I want a drawer dish washer. Others want larger bathrooms, others not so much. this bathroom is an “experience”. amazing!

The home is amazing but what really shocked me was the price. I thought for sure it would be a lot higher than that.

Actually, your first instincts are correct, this is one of the more expensive builders. They just only mention the base prices which start at the smallest 16′ model but the show model they’re showing photos of is clearly closer to the max size of 44′ and would be priced much higher…

the fridge is gorgeous! Bathroom is pretty special also. Like the various sizes which are available. Bathroom has a good location also.
Its a very nice home and going up to 44 ft. and extra wide, major bonus!

Would NOT want to be paying for the fuel for shifting a 44 footer at all. Then you still got the problem of which roads you can traverse with a rig that long and however heavy the thing is.

Many of those purchasing a home like this will have them located on a permanent or semi permanent spot.
usually people don’t move these size homes themselves. there are companies in both Canada and the U.S.A who specialize in moving these size homes. Some who have very large 5th wheels and have “aged out” of moving them, simply hire a company to do it for them whenever they want to move, which usually isn’t too often.

Having a home with wheels under it, does make it easier and less expensive to move than having to have it loaded onto something. Also in some areas of North American, if it has wheels under it, it can be parked in areas or rather placed in areas foundations homes may not be. These types of homes would also be great for summer homes which may be located in areas which flood in the winter. come the end of fall, simply have a company move it into a storage yard and its safe.

Need to see more pics of inside n outside. Also, info on insulation, plumbing, electrical, 2×4’s or 2×6’s?. It looks like a side entrance where the living room area? Can ceiling fans n kitchen cabinets get added? I would also see the layout n various prices. Does this model have hurricane tie downs? Obviously interested…

They have a F.A.Q. on their site but you’d have to contact them for most of that information… Though, they’re a custom builder and will do just about anything from THOWs to Foundation ready Pre-Fabs and even shells and have an option for some DIY…

Keep in mind what a TERRIBLE water-waster that huge tub is, to say nothing of the power it takes to heat that water! We need to all be environmentally conscious on a planet w/ limited resources, so wasting those resources is unconscionable.

    • James D.
      January 31, 2020, 2:19 am

Not really, just relative… Like you can take baths with rain water, water from a river, etc that doesn’t have be taken from the potable water supply… You can heat a bath more easily with off-grid options and the same energy can also be used to provide efficient radiant heat for the home that ends up using less energy in total… Use of heat pumps can also let you use tanks of water as thermal mass…

Also, not all bathtubs require a lot of water to fill up and can save around 80% of water for foot bath, 60% of water for half-body and 40% for full-body bath compared to traditional baths… Water saving designs have been developed for bathtubs… Besides alternatives like sponge baths that just require less water than even a short shower would use.

While other things like a flush toilet will waste far more water than a bath and even taking a shower doesn’t mean you’re using less water if you’re prone to taking long showers… Generally, if you take a shower longer than 5-7 minutes then you’re using more water than taking a bath would and some people take 20 minute showers or even longer…

Water usage is also not the only factor to consider as taking baths also has health benefits you can’t get from a shower and with gray water recycling you could still use the water for other things. Along with being used in certain medical usages, including water births…

In emergencies, a bathtub is also useful to fill up with water just before a natural disaster, major storm, etc. when the grid goes down and people can be without water for prolong periods that thus allow people to survive where they otherwise wouldn’t and deal with situations like contaminated water supplies… Among other emergency scenarios where a bathtub can be a beneficial factor…

      So it’s not that simple…

It’s always confusing to me when people decry other peoples water usage be it a bathub, non HE washing machines, pools, even flush toilets. Because at the very same time, these same ones uphold and support animal agriculture by buying their products which uses far more water than any other sector: it takes approximately 518 gallons of water to produce one pound of chicken, 576 gallons for one pound of pork, one pound of beef requires 1,799 gallons of water, and 2,000 gallons of water to produce one gallon of cows milk.
