    Nice design, except…

Well, why does most every small house kitchen have the stove right next to the fridge even when there is plenty of room not to?

They generally don’t but it’s usually not a big deal for those that do, especially for a rental property where meals will usually be small and the kitchen won’t even always be used.

Some even prefer it for convenience of being able to just reach into the fridge for ingredients without needing to walk around the kitchen back and forth all the time… Not for everyone but no design really is…

What it is with Americans and rough reclaimed wood and concrete? Just because it is reclaimed does not mean it should be kept rough and untreated. And the concrete does not look nice to touch – cold and rough. It looks like someone has tried to drag a weatherbeaten barn into a tiny space. It just clashes with everything else in the house. And putting the stove beside the fridge costs money on the electricity bill, because the fridge needs to use more energy to keep things cool when the stove is used – the temperature gets relatively warmer around a stove. They should have put the stove on the other side of the kitchen. Not to talk about the unusable triangular wedge bested the stove and the fridge – a waste of space. And it is a shabby paint job of the cabinet doors in the kitchen. Looks like reclaimed cabinet doors, which someone has just painted over without any preparation of sanding and spartling. It is really a pity, that the interior does not fit well with the otherwise well made house. And the washer and dryer is a monstrous thing in itself. It is beyond me, why someone would put in such a monster, in a tiny house, when it is possible to get a combined washer and dryer in half that size. That would have left space for shelves above. It is like someone has bought a well made empty shell and put in some very quick second hand solutions. It is a real pity.

Mind you, I have nothing against reclaimed goods. But at least run the wood through a planer, treat it and do a much better job at painting things – with the proper preparation.

No, they did it properly, it’s just not a look you like but most people actually prefer the look of real wood versus the fake artificial stuff. especially when displayed artfully as accent details for the home… Nor does the appearance mean it was never put through a planer or that they didn’t paint it to look exactly how they wanted it and that it actually took a lot of skill and time to get it to look this way…

Besides, there are homes in New Zealand, Australia, parts of Europe, etc. that are far more rustic than this… So it’s not an American only thing either…

I love it! I might have moved the frig over a tad bit for a small counter space (pull out spice storage maybe) but other than that, it is perfect. Love the fencing around the deck.

Elevated deck…so they can get out of the house when the snows pile up in the winter. The front view is very beautiful.

I Loved it. The only thing i didn’t like is the bedroom. I would of rather had a nicer bedroom than a fancy living room. I spend more time in my bedroom if i am not working. There is no shelves or end tables to put drinks or lamps. So is there a drone gonna hover for me? hahaha kidding about that drone

A home drone sounds so handy! haha
