This is Katherine and Shelby’s Modern & Stylish 320 Sq Ft THOW in Oregon.

The house shell was built by Vintage Cottages in Salem, Oregon, and then the couple built out the entire interior by hand. It features a large kitchen with open shelving, a loft bedroom (with headroom for sitting up!) and a storage loft which they used for clothing. The bathroom has a flush toilet and shower stall.

Take the photo tour below and read all the additional information about the build at the end of the post.

Full Details!

L I V I N G  A R E A:
The living area makes this tiny home feel like a regular sized house. It is big enough to comfortable fit a 60″ sofa, and has mounting hardware for a flat screen television. The owners also have a dresser and mini-electric wood stove in the area. The flooring is a dark wood vinyl laminate that is durable and scratch resistant. The walls are a pine tongue and groove that have been painted white. The vaulted ceiling give a sense of openness and airy feel, that makes this tiny house feel much larger. There are 4 windows in the living area alone, so TONS of bright light fills this space.
K I T C H E N:
This kitchen has dark wood butcher block counter tops with custom made leather drawer hardware.
Full size appliances – including a full size refrigerator, and full-size stove come with the house.
Farm house sink.
Plenty of storage in the cabinetry, and locally sourced live edge open shelving.
8′ sliding window brings in tons of light, and opens up onto the deck for and indoor/outdoor eating experience.
S T A I R S:
The stairs are hand built. 21″ wide, and have cabinetry built underneath them. The current owners use these cabinets as their pantry, and for additional storage for household items. The bottom two stairs also have hinged treads so there is additional storage in each of them. Great for holding blankets, pillows, or dog toys!
L O F T S (2):
There are two lofts in this tiny house.
The first loft is 9’x7′, and is big enough to fit a king size bed and two small tables on either side of the bed. It is tall enough to sit up in bed, and the owners even put a small flat screen television at the foot of the bed. This loft has two windows which allows plenty of light into the area. There are stairs that lead up to this loft.
The second loft is 9’x4′ and on the opposite side of the house. The current owners use this as a clothing storage area. There are custom made cubbies for folded clothing or shoes, as well as clothing rails on either side of the loft to hang clothing on. All of this is removable, if the new owner decide to use this space as another sleeping loft or secondary living area. There is a ladder that leads up to this loft.
B A T H R O O M:
This bathroom has everything a full-sized house would have.
It has a porcelain sink with matte black faucet, that sits on top of a two-door cabinet for plenty of storage.
It also has a custom built medicine cabinet that also has storage, and functions as a mirror.
There is a water flushing toilet.
30″x30″ standing shower with all matte black fixtures.
There’s also custom built cabinetry on the side of the shower that’s big enough to hold towels, toilet paper, a small laundry basket, or cleaning supplies.
O U T D O O R:
This tiny house comes with it’s own deck if the new owners want to bring it with them. The deck is 8’x16′ and comes with a hand built outdoor sectional. The flooring of the deck is plywood with a deck paint coating. The posts are all pressure treated wood, connected with stainless steel cable for a modern look. The deck is not attached to the house. This deck adds an extra 128 sq ft of living space in the warmer months.
The front of the house is painted, and has cedar siding that has aged with a wonderful patina. The sides and back of the house are not painted.
P L U M B I N G & E L E C T R I C A L:
Septic: Water flushing toilet, connected to above ground 350 gal black water septic holding tank. We get it emptied by HoneyBucket every 2 months. The holding tank itself is covered by the deck, so it is not visible but easily accessed.
Water: Water inlet for city water hook-up -OR- 30 gallon water tank if you don’t have access to city water. Shower and sinks are not connected to single grey water outlet, this would need to be addressed by new owner. This is an easy solution, and would not be hard to accomplish.
Electrical: currently hooked up to 240v power line on our property. Could be reconfigured to plug into an extension chord, or whatever electrical set-up you have available. This would be the new owners responsibility.
Heating/Cooling: Mini split unit, has heat and Air Conditioning. Also has a Bluetooth compatable control.

Absolutely gorgeous. I’m wondering though….there seems to be either a lot of wasted space to the left of the stove or storage that’s practically impossible to get to. Help me out here.

This home is beautiful inside and out! I would love to hear from this couple how challenging or easy is was to complete the inside build of this beautiful home. It is marvelously done and the design makes this tiny home THOW seem much larger than 320 sq ft. To me, there is no wasted space in this house, particularly with using full sized applainces.

I am ready with the grace of our Heavenly Father and a conservative budget to make my tiny house dream come true, so looking at how people accomplished thier tiny house build and designs is inspiring! Very well done, this house is beautiful & I am sure when this couple sells this THOW it will make another ones tiny home dream come true!
